Initially it accused the Lashkar-e-Tayyibah group or accuses the Pakistani intelligence of training the attackers. But then the threats and warnings subsided and the Indian parliament discussed (on 17th December, 2008) tightening laws to prevent terrorism. Then threats and war hysteria is whipped up and Pakistani airspace is violated...All this demonstrates the prevailing confusion in the Indian government preventing a firm decision. International Economic Conference Media Coverage

Following the announcement by Hizb ut-Tahrir of an International Economics Conference in Khartoum, Sudan on 3rd January 2009, there has been news and commentary on the conference appearing in the global media.

On Tuesday 16th December, the "Al-Sudaniyah" newspaper wrote that Hizb ut-Tahrir was organising an international conference in Khartoum. It noted that there would be presentations by economists, Muslim scholars and scholars from the Shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir. It further noted that thousands of delegates would be attending the conference that was scheduled to run from 10 am to 8 pm at Hall No 1 at the Convention Centre in Burri, Khartoum.

On the 17th of December, the same newspaper published an article stating that a member of the conference media committee had stated that there would be 12 presentations, including the participation by 4 non-Muslim experts who would discuss the capitalist ideology.

On 20th December 2008, the Yemeni media (NewsYemen) reported that Hizb ut-Tahrir was convening an international economics conference on 3rd of January 2009/7th Muharram 1430 Hijri. The media outlet noted that the topics to be covered at the conference would include the intrinsic flaws within Capitalism, the emergence of the current economic crisis and its global impact and the solutions offered by the Islamic economic system under the Khilafah "Caliphate" state. It was noted that Hizb ut-Tahrir had issued an open invitation to delegates to attend the conference and discuss these vital issues.

On 23rd December 2008, the Bangladesh newspaper, the Daily Inqilab, carried an article reporting on the conference and noting that it would detail the Islamic economic system in a comprehensive manner.

Hizb ut Tahrir's women reject capitalism

Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Muslimah (female Muslims) grouped in Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) rejected capitalism which was identical to colonialism, according of a spokeswoman of HTI Muslimah.

"Capitalism facilitate the greed of capitalists to build wealth for economic growth. The greatness of a capitalist country is achieved at the expense of other countries whose natural resources have been exploited by the capitalist countries," said Febrianti Abassuni here on Tuesday.

The HTI Muslimah of Eastern Indonesia was holding a conference themed "Save Eastern Indonesia`s Natural Resources, Prevent Disintegration, Build a Great Nation with Khilafah "Caliphate" (Islamic state)" here on Tuesday.

The conference was part of a series of HTI Muslimah`s conferences being organized in Yogyakarta, Medan (North Sumatra), Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan), Surabaya (East Java), Ujung Pandang (South Sulawesi) and Bogor (West Java).

Indonesia was a rich country but its people were suffering because the nation has become a `diary cow` of the Super Power country and its allies, she said.

The rich natural resources available in eastern Indonesia had been exploited by foreign parties, she said. (*)
