Following in the steps of Barack Obama and the US, Kevin Rudd and the Australian Government has decided to avoid the forthcoming UN conference on racism in Geneva. Stephen Smith, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, said that he was not convinced that the conference would not be a platform for anti-Semitic sentiment.

The democratic government of Pakistan has arrested five activists of Hizb ut-Tahrir and booked them with terrorism and treason charges. The only "sin" these activists committed was that they were building public opinion to stop the showering of bullets and bombs over the innocent civilians of Swat.
