The world is going through a transition, where economic liberalism and globalism are shifting towards economic nationalism and patriotism, with US President Donald Trump leading the way. Globalism has significantly benefited the United States since the 1990s; however, today this is no longer the case. Trump and the elites who support him have learnt that America is not seeing the benefits of globalisation since the rise of China.

Malaysia celebrated its 62nd Independence Day last Saturday. The ceremony which involved marching and procession was held in Putrajaya with full sense of jubilance. The theme chosen for this year’s celebration was ‘Sayangi Malaysiaku – Malaysia Bersih’ (Love My Malaysia – Clean Malaysia) which emphasized on the importance of unity and the love of country towards achieving mutual prosperity.

The Turkish government has taken a new decision to increase the price of gas by 14.90% as of September 1st, and when we take into account the increase of 14.97% imposed last August, the increase imposed on gas prices becomes 30%. This rate has risen in the past year to 53.8% through five consecutive increases
