The 48th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Islamabad on March 23, 2022 where 46 foreign ministers had attended – the meeting lasted for 2 days. One of the main topics of the meeting was the cause of Afghanistan. Besides, the organization held a special meeting concerning Afghanistan in Islamabad in December 2021.

 Having been pursued for years, Bangladesh has finally passed a draft defense agreement with the US during the eighth partnership dialogue between the two held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Sunday (March 20). Two agreements have been drafted on ACSA (Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement) and GSOMIA (General Security of Military Information Agreement),

 On March 10, 2022, Bangladesh Nari Pragati Sangha (BNPS), a local women’s rights organization, has demanded amendment of the existing family laws and enact a new one in Bangladesh to ensure equal rights for women in inheritance and family property. At the event, they vented their anger on Islam by saying that no civil or criminal law in the country is controlled by religion except the inheritance law.

On Monday, 21/3/2022, the House of Representatives approved the draft political parties’ law as amended by the Senate, after it was previously approved by the House of Representatives on 8/3/2022, after approving its 43 articles, in continuous sessions over a period of three days.
