The extension of the social lockdown, due to the COVID-19 virus, in Pakistan to 14^th April has been accepted almost without dissent in the opinion making circles. It has highlighted the intellectual bankruptcy in our intelligentsia.

This Ramadan, 1441 Hijri, falls upon the world in an unprecedented situation. An affliction in the form of one of the smallest of the creations of Allah (swt), a virus, has exposed the falsehood of Capitalism and the secular creed upon which it is built, the detachment of religion from life.

The extension of the lock down, with some relaxation, has thrown Pakistan into heated debate regarding the dangers of the disease versus the financial hardship of the lock down. However, the problem was created by the rulers’ deviation from Islam and their blind adherence to the failed Capitalist system.
