The Iraqi security agreement

At last the drama of 'deceptions and manipulations' led to security agreement and the Iraqi regime accepts the US mandate in Iraq! 

The Iraqi cabinet yesterday (16th November 2008) approved the security agreement with the US government and referred the agreement to parliament for ratification. This is despite it being no secret that the forces that hold sway in parliament are in effect those who run the regime in Iraq that accepted this agreement in the first place!  

What is known of this agreement, given that the major portions of it are secret, does not bode well. Indeed the agreement is a heinous crime by the Iraqi regime that was established and supported by the US before it signed this misleading and deceptive agreement which seeks to conceal the malicious agenda of the US occupation behind a facade without bringing any change whatsoever.       

When the United States viciously attacked Iraq, it sought to achieve two things:  

(1) Establishing Iraq as a launch pad, from both a political and military perspective, in order to establish its hegemony in the region in such a way that its heinous attacks do not affect the ruling regime either internally or globally.  

(2) To take control of the oil resources, Iraq's main asset, and anything else of material value.   

However even though neither of these two points are mentioned in the security agreement, they are known to any political observer or any one who can see, hear and cares. However the US has placed other points in the sidelines which are only for public consumption.  

An observer who knows this agreement would find that the two aims above are fully realised in the text of the agreement:  

1.      It has been mentioned in the text of the agreement that the US armed forces will remain in Iraq legally until the end of 2011 without being harmed! In addition, it states that any armed action against the US forces will be deemed to be a terrorist activity and will be bound to be crushed. Not only will the US armed forces act to crush it, but the Iraqi government will also have responsbility to fight such 'terrorism'!  

On the other hand, the attacks by US forces on people and homes, although supposedly under Iraqi jurisdiction, have been manipulated in such a way that for these attacks to be termed as terrorist activity against people and their homes, the agreement stipulates that they have to be referred to a committee comprised of both the US and the Iraqi regime that was installed by the US! Any aware person would of course realise that a committee comprised of the US occupation forces and the Iraqi regime can only be controlled by the US forces. The token representation of the Iraqi regime merely serves the purpose of a silent witness to the outrageous crimes of the occupying forces.  

As for the statements of the Iraqi officials who pledge that the US would not launch attacks in the region, they are mere words with no meaning coming from the mouth of an empty gun. The actual truth is that an American attack on Syria is not inconceivable!  

2. In relation to the issue of finances it is stipulated in the agreement that the US will be responsible to protect Iraq's oil revenues! This implies that the US is the financial trustee of Iraq and will administer the money generated by oil and control expenditure. With the US being its trustee, would Iraq need any other?!  

Thus this agreement legitimises the US hegemony and occupation of the land and its people by its armed forces, not only in Iraq but elsewhere in the region. This evil plan puts Iraq under an American mandate, not only politically but militarily as well. Moreover the trusteeship over Iraq's finances which the agreement seeks to legitimise puts the financial affairs firmly under the authority of the regime that rules under the mandate!

Oh Muslims! Oh people of Iraq!  

This agreement is tantamount to surrendering the land and its people. It amounts to subjugating the people of Iraq directly under the US regime. This agreement allows control of Iraq's forces and resources by the Americans. It seeks to pave the way for the US hegemony, which is a grave crime in Islam. Allah (swt) says:

[ولن يجعل الله للكافرين على المؤمنين سبيلا]

"And never will Allâh grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers." [TMQ an Nisa: 141] 

The statement of the Iraqi officials that they are in need of the US forces to secure peace and safety is yet another great criminal deception. Indeed the culprits who destroyed peace, shed blood and caused misery and destruction are the occupation forces. How can their assistance be sought to secure peace!? Iraq does not stand in need of some one to secure peace - it is capable of doing so on its own, even beyond it, if only it is governed by a wise ruler!  

This is the reality of seeking US assistance under the pretext of 'to secure peace'. Under the Islamic Shari'ah, it is forbidden to seek the assistance of kufr states. The Prophet (saw) said: "Do not seek fire from the fire of the Mushrikeen." The Prophet (saw) further said: "We do not seek assistance from the Mushrikeen." Therefore seeking their 'help' actually amounts to betraying Allah (swt), His Prophet (saw) and the believers.  

Oh Muslims! Oh people of Iraq!

You are a land filled with resources and capable manpower. You are an important fortress of Islam deeply rooted in history ever since the prophet Ibraheem (a.s) set out from your lands spreading good all over the region under the command of his Creator (swt). Your ancestors entered into Islam and fought the Romans and Persians side by side with the Muslims. Salahuddin set out from your lands to defeat the crusaders and expel them from the blessed lands. It was you who fought the occupying British forces in Iraq during the First World War. 

You have the ability to expel the occupying forces from your lands and restore your honour and pride and that of Baghdad, the cradle of world civilization, which was the beacon of light during era of the Khilafah "Caliphate".  

Hizb ut-Tahrir calls on you to stand up for truth and confront the Iraqi regime installed by America. Stand up and reject this deceptive and worthless agreement to clean this shameful scar from your land. Remember, by the will of Allah (swt), you are capable of achieving this:  

[ولينصرن الله من ينصره إن الله لقوى عزيز]

"Verily, Allâh will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allâh is All-Strong, All-Mighty." [TMQ al Hajj: 040] 

As for those people that the US planted on the blessed land of Iraq, their fate will be one of shame and disgrace in the days to come; it is inevitable by the will of Allah (swt). This will be when the Muslims are able to restore the Khilafah "Caliphate" al Rashidah which will severely account them for their crimes committed in this world, while the punishments of the Day of Judgement will be even greater.
