This Ramadhan, Let us Strive for Ruling by All that Allah (swt) Has Revealed

O Muslims of Pakistan!

Allah (swt) said,

(شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدَى وَالْفُرْقَانِ)

“The month of Ramadhan is the one in which the Qur’ān was revealed as Guidance for mankind, and as clear signs that show the right way and the Furqan.” [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185]. And Allah (swt) said,

(إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ لِتَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِمَا أَرَاكَ الله)

“Indeed, We have revealed upon you (O Muhammad (saw)) a Book in Truth, to rule between the people by all that Allah has shown you.” [Surah an-Nisa'a 4:105]. In the era of ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed, Ramadhan was glorified by great worship of Allah (swt), for over a thousand years. Thus, the Muslims did not restrict themselves to fasting, tarawih and invitations to iftaar alone. They fulfilled the obligation to rule by Islam comprehensively, including in economics, military affairs and education.

It was in the era of ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed that our rulers ruled us according to the Quran and Sunnah. Our wealth was circulated without being confined to the wealthiest, so that the poor were relieved of their burdens. The cries of the oppressed were heard and responded to, so that the enemies' armies feared facing the Khilafah’s armed forces in Jihad. Indeed, it is because of ruling by our great Deen, that Ramadhan itself was the month of victory for several centuries. Ramadhan witnessed victory over the Quraysh at Badr, the Opening of Makkah, the defeat of the Persians at Al-Buwayb, the Opening of ‘Amooriyah and victory over the Tartars at Ein Jaloot.

However, today, O Muslims, how does Ramadhan find us, in an era where there is no ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed? Certainly, we are found in misery and suffering, defeat and disgrace. Despite having huge armed forces, victory seems to be only for our enemies, who hoist their flags of Kufr over the bloodied bodies of our children, women and elderly. And despite having vast lands and abundant resources, we are drowned in poverty, with our backs broken by hardship...

…Yet, instead of the current political leadership calling us to strive for ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed, they invite us to prolong the life of the current system through more elections within it, even though Allah (swt) said,

(وَمَنْ أَعْرَ‌ضَ عَن ذِكْرِ‌ي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا)

“And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a miserable life.” [Surah Ta-Ha 20: 124].

The current political leadership calls for change through Democracy, a ruling system where laws are made according to the desires of men and women gathered in a parliament, even though Allah (swt) ordered,

(وَأَنِ ٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَٱحْذرْهُمْ أَن يَفْتِنُوكَ عَن بَعْضِ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ)

“And rule between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires, and beware (O Muhammad) that they might seduce you from some of what Allah has sent down to you.” [Surah Al-Maaida 5:49]. And the current political leadership claims that they will end corruption and oppression through Democracy, even though the one who does not rule by all that Allah (swt) has revealed is an oppressor, exposing himself to the wrath of Allah (swt), no matter whatever else he did to benefit us materially in the Dunya. Allah (swt) revealed,

(وَمَنْ لَمْ يَحْكُمْ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ الظَّالِمُونَ)

“Those who do not rule by all that Allah has revealed, they are the oppressors.” [Surah Al-Maidah 5:45]

O Muslims of Pakistan!

Leadership is given to the one that deserves it and not merely to the one who asks for it. The current political leadership, whether from PML-N, PPP or PTI, will never change our situation, as they all represent more of the same. Each time elections draw near, one of these parties takes its turn to find a new way to raise our hopes in Democracy, only to smash them after elections, leaving us in deeper despair and in a worsened situation. Rejecting participation in Democracy does not mean we will sit on our hands, but it will set us firmly on the path for real change, the re-establishment of ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed, through Islam's ruling system, the Khilafah.

To re-establish Islam as a state and constitution, we need a new political leadership that we ourselves engage with, support and establish, because it will not descend from the skies. Hizb ut Tahrir has prepared an entire constitution of 191 articles, accompanied with divine evidences from the Quran and Sunnah. It has prepared a library of books elaborating upon Islam’s political solutions and its method of implementation. It has produced great masses of capable, aware and committed men and women, prepared to advise and account the rulers of the Khilafah in their implementation of Islam. It works throughout the Muslim world and is the world's largest party working for the unification of the Ummah through a single Khilafah state. And it is full of politically capable jurists (Fuqaha'a) such as its Ameer, Sheikh Ata Bin Khalil Abu Al-Rashtah, who has the capability, wisdom and experience to lead us.

So, this Ramadhan, let us fully support Hizb ut Tahrir, as we strive for ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed, with the establishment of the Khilafah upon the method of the Prophethood. Let us not miss the opportunity of the great Ramadan. We will participate in his work by attending the circles, gatherings and lectures of the advocates of Khilafah. Let us stand with them in support as they distribute leaflets and give addresses in the public places. Let us arrange audiences for them and spread their messages, leaflets, books and videos to all those that we know, as much as we can. Let us speak to others about the prohibition of Democracy and the obligation of ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed. Let us make Dua for the end of Democracy and the re-establishment of the Khilafah and ask others to do so. And let us demand from our relatives amongst the army officers to grant Nussrah (Material Support) to Hizb ut Tahrir for the re-establishment of the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood.

This Ramadhan, let us set ourselves firmly on the path to re-establishing the Khilafah on the Method of Prophethood, joining our nights with our days, so that we witness the glad tidings of RasulAllah (saaw). Ahmed narrated that RasulAllah (saaw) said,

«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكًا جَبْرِيَّةً فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ»

“Then there will be rule of force, and it will remain as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then Allah will end it when He wills. Then there will be a Khilafah on the Way of the Prophethood.” Then he fell silent.
