The agenda in New Delhi includes climate change, economic development and debt burdens in low-income countries, as well as inflation spurred by Russia’s war in Ukraine.

The G20 Summit finished with one major announcement, an economic corridor linking India, the Middle East and Europe via rail and sea. The project was unveiled by Indian prime minister Narendra Modi and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, who said the rail link would make trade between India and Europe 40% faster.

The number of children in mental health crisis in England has hit a record high according to analysis of NHS data by the mental health charity Young Minds that was published in August. The data revealed that the number of children and young people undergoing treatment or waiting to start care reached a new record with 466,230 open referrals in May to children and young people’s mental health services.

Thousands are Still Imprisoned: Mirziyoyev Released 286 Prisoners

In connection with the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyaev signed a decree pardoning 286 convicts. Of those pardoned, 109 are completely released from serving their main sentence, 116 are released from serving their sentence on parole, and the sentence of 25 persons was replaced with a more lenient one.

The OIC Calls the Afghan Emirate for ‘Moderate Islam’

 The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) wrote on its X handle (formerly twitter) that: “A delegation of Muslim Ummah scholars and thinkers, arrived in the Afghan capital, Kabul on Thursday morning August, 31, 2023 for meetings with Afghan scholars, along with ministers and officials in the government of the de facto authority in Afghanistan.”
