(يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاء )
"O You who believe, take not my enemies and your enemies (disbelievers and polytheists) as friends" (Surah Al-Mumtahina, 51)

On 9^th May 2013, while addressing a gathering at Kabul University, Hamid Karzai said that U.S. security pact negotiations are on their way. He said, "America wants to ensure nine military bases across Afghanistan after 2014." According to him, these nine bases would be spread throughout Kabul, Bagram, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad, Gardez, Qandahar, Helmand, Shen-Dand and Hirat. In addition, he said that Afghanistan too has demands and conditions in the security pact, which includes, the security of Afghanistan, training and strengthening the security forces of Afghanistan, strengthening infrastructure and economic resources of Afghanistan. Karzai also said, "I am ready to allow the U.S. to establish its military bases on the conditions we have put forward." Furthermore, Karzai said, that the relationship of Afghanistan with the U.S. and NATO forces is in the interest of Afghanistan.

Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Afghanistan condemns the whole process in the strongest possible words and calls upon the Ummah to realize the following points based on an Islamic viewpoint:

• Just recently the U.S. by using its puppet rulers, managed to create tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan on the border area of Goshta (district of Ningarhar), to convince the people of Afghanistan that it is in their interest to agree to the U.S. demands of having military bases in Afghanistan. These tensions are the joint endeavor of the U.S. and the rulers on both sides of the border to pave the way for signing the strategic pact. We all know that the government of Afghanistan has agreed and signed a joint agreement between U.S., NATO and Pakistani forces that allows Pakistan to take control of various checkpoints along the border between the two countries. However, when Pakistani forces started acting on the agreement, the Afghani government ordered their forces to attack Pakistani forces, which caused the conflict between Muslims on both sides of the Durand border - the legacy of the master of colonialism: the British Empire.
• Taking the Kaffir crusaders as allies and seeking their military assistance is absolutely forbidden in Islam. Yet Karzai, who got himself elected through fraudulent democratic elections, acts as if the people of Afghanistan are in favor of allowing the U.S. nine military bases in Afghanistan. However, the reality is that the Mujahid nation of Afghanistan is not ready to ask anything from anyone except Allah (swt). So how could this friendship with the U.S. and NATO be better for the Muslims of Afghanistan, which has brought nothing by miseries, insult, abhorrence, poverty, obscenity and corruption to Afghanistan and its people?
• On the other hand, Karzai and his likes believe that by enslaving themselves and obeying demands, his master will grant them reverence and will keep them in authority forever. However Allah (swt) has clearly said that such expectation and hopes are imaginative and hypocritical.

(بَشِّرِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا، الَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَيَبْتَغُونَ عِنْدَهُمُ الْعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا)

"Give glad tidings to the hypocrites that for them there is a painful punishment. Those who take unbelievers for guides instead of believers, are they seeking might with them? Surely, the might altogether belongs to Allah." [Surah An-Nisa: 138-139]

In the past, we know that the Mujahid nation of Afghanistan stood against the invasion of U.S.S.R only to attain the pleasure of Allah (swt), more than 2 million Muslims had sacrificed their lives for the sake of Allah (swt) and his Deen that resulted in a humiliating defeat of the enemies. What has happened to these people who do not raise their voice against the Kafir conspiracies against the Muslims? Yes, we have people with firm belief and unwavering resolve in this country who will not allow Karzai and his likes to sell the land of martyrs to the Kafir colonialists.

The Muslims of Afghanistan should understand the reality of the Ummah around the world, as the Islamic Ummah is moving fast towards the Islamic awareness. Soon the Khilafah "Caliphate" (which will truly give honor to the Ummah and implement Islam) will be established to reunify the Islamic lands under its shade in one unified state.

O Muslims of Afghanistan: Do not allow these traitor rulers to sell the blood and sacrifice of the millions of Muslims, including those of the Sahaba (ra) to the Kuffar.
