Wikileaks Editor Julian Assange said on Friday, May 23, that Intercept and Washington Post have abstained from revealing the name of Afghanistan as one of those countries where all telephone conversations have been monitored by the US National Security Agency. He described it as censorship of press on an issue of fundamental importance for a Nation. The Afghan government also responded that "It is a violation of the national sovereignty of Afghanistan, and a violation the human rights guaranteed to all Afghanis."

USA and Afghan state are partners in this crime against the Muslim Ummah. America does not give any value to the constitution it drafted in the aftermath of war on Afghanistan and implemented it through an installed puppet government. By such actions, US has proven that it does not value individual freedoms and human rights it so fervently describes to be integral part of democratic system when these values stand against American hegemonic, colonial interests.

US, NATO, and Western installed puppet government of Afghanistan describe communication services and development in mass media sector as one of the biggest achievements of the past 13-year illegal war. However, this progress is part and parcel of American campaign and its war machine against the Ummah. That is the reason media sources and communication services have made significant progress in Afghanistan compared to other countries in the region.

USA and Afghan security agencies have taken advantage of communication sources to monitor conversations of Afghan people. They have killed dozens of people by so-called tracing of signals of telephones, and have arrested dozens more. Media sources have fallen short of exposing these crimes. Instead, these media sources have justified such crimes against Islam, Muslims and Mojahid people.

This heinous American action against Islamic Ummah is part of a series of American "war on terror" campaign, but they describe such exploitation of media and communication sources as achievements. The reality is that media sources and communication services have been used by America as tools of war against its ideological enemy (political Islam).
