Press Release
Russia Exposes Its Bankruptcy by Rejecting Delegation from Hizb ut Tahrir/ Australia
The Russian Consulate in Sydney today refused to accept a delegation from Hizb ut Tahrir in Australia. The delegation had intended to deliver a letter from Hizb ut Tahrir condemning Russia's continuing persecution of Islamic political activists, especially those from Hizb ut Tahrir.
The Russian Consulate not only refused to meet with the delegation from Hizb ut Tahrir/ Australia, it called the police to intervene on its behalf!
Despite its continuing propaganda to the contrary, it seems Russia is terrified by those who carry nothing but their pens and their tongues, who through their actions, expose Russia's repressive policies at home and abroad.
Russia's cowardice rejection is not without precedent nor is it inconsistent with the Federation's draconian policies towards Islam and Muslims. Russia has a long history of oppression and persecution. In its open war with Islam at home, Russia is persecuting Muslim men, women, children and the elderly. It adopts a vicious two tier system, where harsh laws have been enacted, false evidences fabricated, extensive sentences delivered, and political activism criminalised as ‘terrorism.'
But despite the severest repression, the Muslims' legitimate aspirations for self-determination only grow stronger. If Russia, at the height of its power under the former USSR, could not extinguish the light of Islam within its territories, it stands no chance today given the depths of its political impotence. Silencing legitimate political dissent through harassment, intimidation, persecution and extra-judicial practices is a sign of weakness not strength. Responding to ideas with vicious violence is a sign of depravity not enlightenment.
Russia must take heed of two matters:
1. The adoption of violence as a means to silence legitimate political dissent is an unequivocal sign of intellectual defeatism, the practice of which indicates the nearing collapse of the very states that enact such policies.
2. The Muslim world, to which Muslims in Russia are in inextricably linked, is on the verge of recapturing its political independence, by establishing the Islamic Caliphate, ending once and for all the vile and pernicious interference of foreign states in the affairs of the Muslim world. Given its close proximity and dreadful record, Russia needs to urgently reassess its relations with the Muslim world, for the Muslims will not forget their woeful treatment at the hands of their Russian oppressors.
