 Press Release
Cries to Hide the Genocide

Genocide apologists and their shameless enablers in media and politics have stirred another round of deliberate hysteria surrounding a proposed gathering in Lakemba, spotlighting the year-long genocidal campaign in Palestine.

Hizb ut Tahrir / Australia would like to publicly state that the assumptions and lies spread by Zionist supporters regarding the organisers of the gathering are, at best, misinformed and, at worst, purposely malicious. It is ironic that politicians continually call for social cohesion yet have no hesitation in accepting false narratives - spreading misinformation in the process and ultimately undermining the very “social cohesion” they advocate.

The world is expected to believe that the greatest danger is posed not by those enacting an actual genocide, but by those drawing attention to it. We are asked to believe it is insensitive to gather on a particular day, but not to bomb, kill, and murder on that same day.

This latest propaganda campaign is simply pouring fuel to the flames of Islamophobia—not content with dehumanising the entire Palestinian population, but also targeting those gathering to reflect on their pain amidst an active genocide.

How can claims and warnings about tearing apart social cohesion be taken seriously from those who justify, in every way, the tearing apart of human bodies?

These claims are baseless, distorted, lies. But the world already knows that.

It is time the Australian government acknowledges it too.
