Press Release
Corruption of Failed Democracy in Bangladesh could not even Ensure a Proper Flood Prevention Program in so many years – the Blessed Khilafah is the Only Hope and Resort for our People
The flood situation in the north and north-eastern parts of Bangladesh has already gone from bad to much worse as the woes of the calamity-stricken people are being completely neglected by the government. Almost 7 lac (0.7 million) people are under siege from fresh floods for weeks, and now they are passing days in extreme misery while government reliefs are yet to be received.
Apart from acute shortages of food, sanitation and pure drinking water, affected people have already started to suffer from severe waterborne diseases as well. And amid the rising level of anxiety and outcry among already stressed people regarding government’s failure to provide proper support, Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya managed to make throwaway and insensitive comments. At a press conference in the capital, he said: “There was no shortage of relief materials”!! When our struggles and sufferings of everyday lives have always been ignored by these corrupt democratic politicians, we can expect much worse from them in a time of crisis. Indeed there was no shortage of relief materials, but it was not for the flood strangled people, rather for their party activists to usurp it. This capitalist system only nurtures and cares for the ruling elite and their entourage.
It is also no surprise that our “invertebrate politicians” are incapable to stand in front of Indian aggression when every year the country opens its barrages during monsoon, causing flood in Bangladesh. Rather these corrupt politicians choose to remain subservient to this enemy state to cling onto power.
We can never expect sincere leadership to be borne out of greed and rampant corruption! Neither they have the courage to prevent flood related problem from its core, i.e. to stop Indian audacity, and nor do they have the ability to tackle natural disaster efficiently.
Democracy in Bangladesh has miserably failed to even establish a proper flood prevention and management system. Even though we never lack efficient planners, engineers and manpower, they have never been properly utilized due to the lack of a sincere leadership. All that is required is total eradication of the failed democratic ruling system which can only breed incompetent and dishonest politicians who are apathetic to people’s sufferings. A strong ‘political will’ under the sincere and courageous leadership of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood can only bring about the long desired change that this country is waiting for.
The imminent second righteous Khilafah will once again create leaders who will follow in the footsteps of past Khulafaa’ who feared Allah (swt) and the accounting of his people.
