Press Release

Extra-Judicial Killing is the Legacy and Hallmark of the Awami Mafia Government

The Only Solution to Drug-Free Society is Teaching the Youths Islam with its Enlightened Political Vision and Purpose in Life, that “Hollow” Democracy can never provide

Starting from May 04, 2018, following Sheikh Hasina’s declaration (“elite force members to continue its operation against drugs like (against) militancy”) the government went into a massive drive against drugs, not really to build a drug-free society, but rather to gain cheap popularity with the election in mind. The people know well enough that in the entree, spread, and delivery of drugs to the youths by the regime-backed drug syndicates, each consecutive government has played a key role. So, talk of controlling the spread of drugs from them is clear deception. By the sheer number of people killed extra-judicially within the short period since the start of this “war on drugs”, this government has already broken its own records in killing people, and is now set to break the world records. Like every other time, the law enforcement agencies explain away the murders with the same preformatted response, that is, ‘gunfight’ between their members and the suspects during the raids. However, many of the family members of the deceased informed the news outlets that the victims were picked-up earlier by plain-clothed police officers who demanded ransom in many cases, and then later killed them in cold blood.

If the government were truly sincere about eradicating drugs from the society, the entire law enforcement agencies along with the political wings of the Awami League (AL) government would have collapsed by now, with many of their members either killed or arrested due to their heavy involvement in illicit drug trafficking. Huge numbers of methamphetamine pills (known as "yaba") and Phensedyl (codeine-based cough syrup) cross into Bangladesh from Myanmar and India respectively throughout the year under the auspices of the ruling elites and regime-backed law enforcing agencies. Even after being chronically blamed for his potential link to the ‘yaba’ syndicates of the country, “Yaba Kingpin” Abdur Rahman Bodi, the AL lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency, has managed to remain untouched. Also, all the prisons in Bangladesh are infested with ‘yaba’ trade, facilitated by prison police. Inspector General of Prisons Brig Gen Syed Iftekhar Uddin admitted that despite having strict security, illegal drugs are entering the prisons. (Dhaka Tribune, April 4, 2018). This exposes how the evil nexus of drugs in Bangladesh of the influential members of the ruling party, police, and other law enforcement agencies are deeply linked due to the high profitability. Hence, if the Hasina government were sincere in its intention, it would have taken steps to demolish the nexus which is predominantly occupied by its party thugs – the cardinal “pillars” of this regime’s politics. And with the national election looming, this mafia government will not undertake such “suicidal steps” that might weaken these “pillars”!

O People of Bangladesh! Indeed drug addiction among the youths has reached an epidemic level but you should not be deceived into thinking that the problem will be wiped out by the so-called ‘crackdown’ going on. This secular democratic system has kept the drug-addiction problem alive and the AL mafia government is taking all the advantages of it by using the youths as their muscle power for politics and all kinds of illegal trades. It is plain as day that the most common reason for drug addiction among our youth is frustration and lack of adventures. And the current political system of Bangladesh, secular democracy, is unable to present a correct way of life to them as it creates inequality and injustice which is causing their frustration and depression, leading them to be the victim of the evil political nexus.

Take Heed, O People of Insight! The absence of comprehensive political Islam is the main reason of the sad downfall of our youths. In this system, the youths find no enlightened vision and purpose in life, nor any connection with their lives with the Hereafter, thus their youthfulness are being totally wasted. But through education and military training, the imminent second rightly-guided Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood - will undertake practical steps to rebuild our society as vibrant and productive with a vision to conquer and rule the world which will ensure that our youths find adventure in the battle field, and not in drugs. The Khilafah system always deals with the source of the societal problems, and punishment is the last resort; it will not be a system that will depend on extra-judicial executions while keeping the root-problem alive. We remind you the sayings of the beloved companion of Rasulullah (saw), Umayr bin Sa’d al-Ansari (ra) who was appointed as governor of Homs in Sham: “The strength of the Sultan (Khalifah) neither comes from flogging with the whip, nor killing with the sword but from ruling with justice and holding fast to truth”.

O People! Do not let this system corrupt the youths of your family. Do not let them be the prey of the secular politicians to bring misery to your family. Have your sons and daughters work hard with Hizb ut Tahrir to bring back the promised Khilafah ruling system of Islam which will be able to provide vision and aspiration for them and establish a just and peaceful society much like it did during the Khilafah Rashidah.

“O you who believe! guard yourselves and your families against a Fire whose fuel is humans and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded. [TMQ At-Tahrim:6]
