Epidemics of Corruption are the Inevitable Result of the Current Corrupt Capitalist System; Khilafah (Caliphate) - the System Chosen by Allah (swt) is the only way out

Corruption has reached at epidemic level during the nearly two decades of democratic tyrannical rule of the Hasina government. Recently, the issue of widespread corruption in the Hasina government has again created a stir in the wake of the United States imposing sanctions on Benazir Ahmed and Aziz Ahmed, the former chiefs of two important pillars of the State, the security forces and the army, respectively. We all know that the tyrannical Hasina government is using these corrupt people like Benazir, Aziz as executioners to suppress the people. Mahfuz Anam, the editor of Bangladesh's top newspaper said, "We knew about these corruptions but could not open our mouths because of fear..." It is important to mention here that the colonialist USA imposed this sanctions in their interest, so that through this they are able to establish more control over the Hasina government. America is eager to bring more momentum to the implementation of its colonialist projects and at the same time it wants to win the confidence and reinvigorate the BNP group, which is depressed because of America’s support to the Hasina government. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Donald Lu, said clearly in an interview aired on Independent TV during his recent visit to Bangladesh, "We look for our interests around the world..." Besides, when asked about ACSA (Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement), GSOMIA (General Security of Military Information Agreement) two defense agreements, he demanded transparency and accountability. But the military affairs of any country are strategic and secret. Thus, the United States is engaged in a desperate attempt to achieve its colonial interests by leveraging the rampant corruption of the Hasina government to establish control over this government. In fact, the current Godless capitalist system is a factory to produce corrupt politicians and rulers, where governance and state positions are seen not as entrusted or sacred duties, but as opportunities to build mountains of wealth. Because this way of life, separated from the Creator, makes people enamored with the highest worldly benefits and distracts them from the Hereafter. Allah (swt) says,

[أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ * حَتَّى زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ]

“Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you. Until you reach the grave” [At-Takathur: 1-2].

O People, especially those who are sincere amongst the politicians, intellectuals and journalists! Don't be blind to the fact that the root cause of corruption – this secular-capitalist system and its selfish values.

[وَمَنْ كَانَ فِي هَذِهِ أَعْمَى فَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ أَعْمَى وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا]

“And whoever is blind in this [life] will be blind in the Hereafter and more astray in way” [Surah Al-Isra:72]. Godless Capitalism is a backward ideology that turns people from worshiping the Creator to worshiping creatures (e.g., the elites) or objects (e.g., wealth), just as in the age of ignorance, people worshiped idols or fire instead of God. Islam is the true and forward ideology which has freed man from the slavery of man and elevated him to the worship of the Creator. As a result, under the Islamic system of governance- the Khilafah (Caliphate), there will be no inferior rulers like Hasina, and elite cowardly media personalities like Mahfuz Anam, who even tremble to demand an investigation into the corruption of those currently working like Benazir-Aziz, let alone point fingers at Hasina as the mastermind of corruption. In the Khilafah (Caliphate) system, all laws and regulations are determined based on the commands and prohibitions of Allah (swt). As a result, no ruler can make laws to legitimize his plunder, just as he cannot exempt himself from punishment and impunity from someone's crime. When a woman from the noble and influential Banu Makhzum tribe of Makkah was accused and found guilty of theft, some of the Muslims came to the Messenger of Allah (saw) with a recommendation not to cut off her hand as punishment, where RasulAllah (saw) angrily replied.

«أَتَشْفَعُ فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللهِ؟» ثُمَّ قَامَ فَاخْتَطَبَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا أَهْلَكَ الَّذِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا سَرَقَ فِيهِمْ الشَّرِيفُ تَرَكُوهُ، وَإِذَا سَرَقَ فِيهِمْ الضَّعِيفُ أَقَامُوا عَلَيْهِ الْحَدَّ، وَايْمُ اللهِ لَوْ أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ سَرَقَتْ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا»

“Have you come where Allah's law applies?” “Allah destroyed many nations before you because they forgave their nobles and rich people if they stole (crimes), but if a poor person committed a crime, they would execute the punishment prescribed by Allah on him. By Allah! If my daughter Fatima had been accused of theft, I would have cut off her hand too” (Bukhari, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah). The only way out of this current epidemic of corruption is to turn away from the secular-capitalist system and unite in the intellectual and political struggle with Hizb ut Tahrir to bring back a just System – al-Khilafah. He (swt) says,

[أَفَلاَ يَتُوبُونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَهُ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ]

“So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful” [Surah Al-Ma`idah: 74].
