Hizb ut Tahrir Denounces the Daily Purbokone’s Despicable Attempt to Preposterously Link the Party with Militancy

On Sunday 10 January, 2016, local news media outlet in Chittagong, The Daily Purbokone, has published a front-page report, titled “Talented students targeted by the militants”, which absurdly attempted to link Hizb ut Tahrir to militancy and vilify the truthful image of its party activists with fictitious information.

The Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir Wilayah Bangladesh strongly condemns such ‘journalistic malpractice’ to spread slanderous lies about the party which has no record of militancy of its own, neither in Bangladesh nor in any parts of the world where it operates. And due to the long-standing relationship with the party, people of Bangladesh are also well aware that Hizb ut Tahrir is a political group that only believes in intellectual and political struggle; hence any sort of ‘media sorcery’ will not work to keep the people away from the party.

The phenomenal character of the sincere and thinking activists of Hizb ut Tahrir is that they always remain closely-connected with the society to make the people aware about their Islamic obligations as well as any potential threats to their existence, be it from the colonialists or their surrogate rulers of our lands. When year after year the brave activists of this party are struggling for the cause of Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood to ensure betterment of their countrymen at the cost of their own jobs, passing career and other material comforts, some ill-intentioned news media await the moments to denigrate the image of these sacrificing souls and their party, only to feed into the government’s terror narrative. Rather than upholding the truth in front of the nation, these media outlets are acting as the mouthpiece of this subservient government of the colonial West.

Oh sincere and conscious people of the news agencies! How long will you keep silent about the tyranny that the ‘uncanny democracy’ breeds? Has not the time yet come for you to take brave stance for siding with ideological Islam and the movement of re-establishing the Khilafah "Caliphate" state (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood?

Why are you turning a blind eye to the misery and distress that the colonial West and their local lackeys are bringing forth, only to be intensified every single day? The activists of Hizb ut Tahrir also come from the same society you belong to, and our political struggle is directed only against our common enemy. Hence, we call upon you to do what Allah (swt) has commanded you with:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلاَ يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُوا اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

“Oh you who believe, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do.” [Surah Al-Ma’idah: 8]
