Muslims in Britain Should Speak Out Against the Pakistani Leadership’s Surrender of Kashmir

Imagine if Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted that Ukraine desires peaceful and cooperative ties with Russia, whilst Ukrainian citizens are being slaughtered during Putin's invasion! You would call him a traitor, question who he is working for, and refuse to have any further dealings with him.

This is the situation today in Pakistan. Shahbaz Sharif has just been appointed prime minister by the country’s top leadership and within days he tweeted to Narendra Modi the Butcher of Gujrat, “Pakistan desires peaceful and cooperative ties with India”, whilst at the same time the Muslims of Occupied Kashmir and India face brutal attacks by Modi and his far-right Hindutva platform.

The political and military leadership in Pakistan, despite their democratic system, has remained silent when Modi annexed occupied Kashmir, effectively surrendering it to India, they are silent as India abuses and commits atrocities against the Muslims of India and Occupied Kashmir, and they are even silent as India fires missiles into Pakistan itself. Thus, the pragmatic and unprincipled system of democracy in Pakistan ensures a leadership that removes it as an obstacle to the rise of today’s Raja Dahir, the brutal regional tyrant. Under the banner of “regional connectivity” and “trade normalization,” the close friends of Modi in Pakistan’s leadership are herding the Pakistani people towards Akhand Bharat (Greater India), with the wholesale betrayal of the Muslims of Occupied Kashmir and India. Why must the Muslims of Pakistan abandon our brethren to make way for people of idolatry, bigotry and falsehood?

We are an honourable people that are inheritors of a powerful Islamic legacy that began at the time of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate), culminating in Islam’s dominance of the Indian Subcontinent. The Islamic Indian Subcontinent’s share of the world economy was 23 per cent, as large as all of Europe put together, rising to 27 per cent in 1700, in the time of Aurangzeb Alamgir. Centuries of Islamic ruling ensured prosperity and security for the region’s inhabitants, regardless of their race or religion, earning their loyalty. It is not for us to make way for any regional order other than that instilled by the Khilafah on the Method of Prophethood.

Muslims in Britain should ask their friends and relatives connected to the people of nussrah (support) in Pakistan: How can you tolerate any leadership that is restraining you before the growing arrogance of Modi? It was no surprise that you strained restlessly at your restraints when Modi fired a missile at you for the sake of his political standing, with no response from your spineless military leadership. And you strain at your restraints now as the confidantes of Modi, the Sharif brothers, side with General Bajwa in his wholesale surrender to India.

So let Ramadhan witness your support for the re-establishment of the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood under the leadership of the Ameer of Hizb ut Tahrir, Sheikh Ata Bin Khalil Abu Al-Rashtah.
