Calling for Supporting the Earth’s Oppressed is Not a Crime!

On Sunday, 10/12/2023, the Daily Mail published a report on its website under the heading: “Government is considering a ban for Islamic extremist group Hizbut-Tahrir that called for jihad during an anti-Israel rally.” The report stated that “Home Secretary James Cleverly is considering whether to impose the ban, which would be the first proscription of a British Islamist group in 17 years.” The report added that, “It is understood officials made their recommendation after seeing the public outrage over protests outside the Egyptian embassy in October and Hizbut-Tahrir's leaders calling for jihad against Israel.”

Hizb ut Tahrir / Britain would like to clarify the following matters to the newspaper and to the general public, both in Britain and abroad:

1- Hizb ut Tahrir was founded in 1953 in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), that became part of JORDAN which was then under the British Mandate. At that time, the Hizb did not request permission from the British state. Instead, Hizb ut Tahrir began its work without waiting for either a permit or a license. The call that the Hizb carries is an Islamic Call to resume the Islamic way of life and to establish the Islamic state that rules by all that Allah the Almighty has revealed. This Call does not need permission or authorisation from any country or entity. Accepting Islam and carrying its call does not require permission from anyone or any entity, whether officially or unofficially.

2- Hizb ut Tahrir’s recent efforts, which were amongst the efforts of millions who denounced the crimes of the Zionist entity and the genocide it is committing, are not a punishable crime! Instead, all peoples of the world – Muslims and non-Muslims – must deny and condemn the monstrous crimes that the Zionist entity has been committing for more than two months, in plain sight of everyone including governments that claim to respect human rights whilst paying lip service to freedoms. Whoever rejects the crime is absolved of the crime. However, shame will continue to surround everyone who failed the earth’s oppressed by not defending them from the brutal occupiers who ravage their bodies and scatter them across the earth. Allah the Almighty said,

[مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ كَتَبْنَا عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَّهُ مَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَلَقَدْ جَاءتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا بِالبَيِّنَاتِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُم بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فِي الأَرْضِ لَمُسْرِفُونَ]

“Because of that, We ordained for the Children of Israel that, if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or to spread mischief in the land, it would be as if he killed all humanity. If anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all humanity. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and signs. Even then, after that, many of them continued to transgress the limits in the land!” [TMQ Surah Al-Maaidah 5:32].

3- The countries that stood with the Zionist entity, providing it money and weapons are partners in its heinous crimes. They must cease this shameful support and stand with the oppressed in the Blessed Land of Palestine, upon whose heads, homes, schools and hospitals were demolished. No child, woman or elderly person was spared. Even stones and trees were not spared. Was it not the duty of the Home Secretary and his government, to discuss its ugly stance towards the occupation instead of holding accountable those who cling to their innate humanity? It was the duty of the Home Secretary to discuss with his government the need for an apology too, and compensation for the Muslims for the historical sin Britain committed in 1917 by its Balfour Declaration.

4- The call to ban Hizb ut Tahrir for its honourable stance towards its oppressed brothers and sisters, and carrying Islam as a beacon of hope for humanity, is a sign of the desperation within the dictatorial agent states of the West in the Islamic World. These agents of the West exist to prevent the return of Islam and the Call to the Truth. However, any form of persecution or ban will not prevent it from continuing its noble work. Hizb ut Tahrir is still operating despite authoritarian regimes, including Germany and Russia.

5- We know that the claim of Western governments - including Britain - to respect freedoms and human rights, is based on double standards. They only defend their principles if they serve their interests. They simply ignore their principles if they are against their interests. This is seen in the case of their stance towards the ongoing genocide of the oppressed in the Blessed Land of Palestine.

6- We call on every person who upholds noble values and is keen on his / her humanity, to study the greatness of Islam and follow it. Islam contains the sublime divine values that take humanity out of societies in which the strong devour the weak, and Islam upholds justice for all people, without distinction between the black and the white, or between the Arab and the non-Arab.

Allah the Almighty said,

[وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ * قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ]

“We have sent you, O Prophet Muhammad, only as a mercy for the whole world. Say, “What has been revealed to me is this: ‘Your God is only One God.’ Will you then submit?” [TMQ Surah Al-Anbiyya 21:107-108].
