Støjberg to Muslims: “You Do Not Belong Here”
Today, 14/03/2016, the Danish Minister of Integration, Inger Støjberg, wrote a Facebook-update, where she condemned a long line of imams and Hizb ut Tahrir, while she at the same time attacked Islam and Shariah. She made it completely clear, that if you do not abandon your Islamic values, then there is no room for you in this country. In the same breath she expressed her “full respect” for the Muslims, who have taken “Denmark and its set of values” as their own.
Inger Støjberg is far from the first Danish politician, who has tried with this kind of appeal to the Muslims, and she has the last couple of days, been far from the only one to condemn and attack Islam and Shariah.
In this connection, we in Hizb ut Tahrir Scandinavia would like to make it completely clear:
You cannot claim to have “respect” for Muslims, if you at the same time attack their view of life and values in a degrading manner. It is not possible to separate in this way between Islam and Muslims. There is no Islam without Muslims, and no Muslims without Islam.
There may be many reasons to why many Muslims do not stand out in public and openly express their wholeheartedly support for Islam and Shariah. One of the obvious reasons, the Minister described herself, when she, in an attempt to lash out at her counterpart, accidentally described her own undertaking with great precision. She wrote, that some will “try to suppress women, children or all those, who think or live differently, from what they do themselves.”
This update from the Minster, and the entire political debate about Islam, Muslims, Shariah and freedoms, is yet another clear expression of intellectual and valuational bankruptcy, which is cemented by use of the mother of all bad arguments, in different wordings. The Minister herself chooses this variant: “You do not belong here”.
