Press Release
The Horrible Economic Situation is not cured by the Corrupt Economic Reality that created it
But Rather By the Restoring the Authority of Islam to the Ummah and its Complete Implementation in All its Affairs
(Translated)
After al-Razzaz’s government conclusion of its ministerial teams rounds in the provinces, where it faced a strong resistance and rejection in most of its events and meetings with the public; not only for the new draft tax law, but also for the entire economic and political system of the Jordanian regime. Now the government is going ahead with putting forward the law on the House of Representatives, which it too has also not been spared of accusations of complicity with these governments in leading to the situation of the people of misery, hardship, poverty and humiliation.
The government did not find a more humiliating and conceding justification for marketing the amended draft income tax law, the draft of robbery of the pockets of people with false pretenses, than using the pretext that the International Monetary Fund will not grant them permission to borrow, except by passing this law, according to Mubarak Abu Yamin, the Minister of State for Legal Affairs: "That neither an ally nor a friend has accepted to give us grants or aid without the approval of the IMF", this is not only to extinguish the enormous debts owed but also to pay back the accrued and accumulated interest on these debts.
This insistence comes after the state has exhausted all its resources through successive governments. Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz attributed Jordan's rising indebtedness to the volume of government spending in the era of six former prime ministers. The period between 2003-2007, witnessed an increase in the size of government spending that reached up to 40% of GDP. The Deputy Prime Minister Rajai Al-Muasher described the new draft income tax law as integrated, considering it a national interest, furthermore, he stated that the IMF made it a condition on the government that the House of Representatives must approve the current version of the draft tax law, as if he a spokesman for the IMF and works for it. And as if people thought that the House of Representatives will stand by their interests by not passing this law, yet it was the one which gave confidence to these successive governments and it passed laws of humiliation and submission.
This is the bad economic scene in Jordan these days, which is clear for all to see. The popular movements expressed great discontent with all political, economic and living conditions in Jordan. The inability and shortness in resources and bad services in education, health care and transport, are the most important justification for enforcing taxes by the government, unemployment reached 18%, and increased taxes, including income tax and sales and non-productive projects, as well as the privatization of public economic institutions, which are public property of the people and selling them at the lowest prices, not to mention the security expenditures without limits, that was highlighted by the IMF on its website: "The reform of income tax in Jordan will also allow the authorities to fill the high security costs, which have been increasing rapidly in recent years," which was the result of the alliance of the regime with the forces of the Western kafir colonialists, led by America in its war on Islam under the name of war on ‘terrorism’.
It has become absolutely clear to the people of Jordan that the IMF's recipes since 1989 do not lead to improved macroeconomic performance. On the contrary, the fiscal deficit continues. The public debt at the end of July 2018 was about 39.8 billion or 96.4% of GDP, under the worst economic growth rate of 1.9% as a result of these policies dictated by this fund, which the regime and governments comply with its futile recipes.
The economic problem in Jordan, although it is the result of the implementation of the capitalist economic system and the fact that it does not emanate from the creed of the Islamic Ummah, rather this economic problem is essentially a political problem, which arose with the establishment of Jordan and the regime imposed by the kafir colonizer on the people. Its radical solution is not according to the futile capitalist economic plans, and it is incorrect that the treatment is from the source of this corrupt reality, but rather its cure must be political. The established system with its subordination and its intellectual and political loyalty to the West and its close association with the Jewish entity chose a corrupt capitalist economic system that prevents the use of its wealth. It does not have its own economic system, but rather it follows the ambitious interests of international economic policy and agreements, the radical and practical solution to Jordan’s problems and those of the Muslim countries is by restoring the authority Islam to the Ummah and to implement it fully in all its affairs, and an end the control of the kafir West, and even expel it and to end its presence in our country and end its meddling in our affairs. Allah (swt) says:
(وَلَنْ يَجْعَلَ اللهُ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَبِيلًا) “...and never will Allah give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them]” [An-Nisa’: 141].
The economic system in Islam is the only system that ensures that people satisfy their basic needs individually, and it enables them to work to satisfy their luxury needs and to satisfy the basic needs for the people legislated by Islam, namely education, health care and security. It is the only system that defined the economic problem as the distribution of wealth on the individuals and not the production of wealth or possession of wealth as is the capitalist view of the problem. Hizb ut Tahrir explained its economic vision from Islam, published it in The Economic System in Islam book, and it adopted an economic policy that is explained in the Draft Constitution of the Khilafah State, which are a group of Shariah rules legislated by the Lord of the Worlds with Shariah evidences. The party has held dozens of seminars, lessons and international conferences that explained the Islamic economic system and economic treatment of the problem in all its branches and aspects.
The most prominent feature of the Islamic economic system is the separation between state ownership, public ownership and private ownership. The most prominent feature is the legislation of the gold and silver-based monetary system and the definition of the basic problem facing the economy as a problem of distribution rather than a problem in production as in Western thought. And dealing with the mineral wealth, which includes oil and gas on the basis that it is "the right of all those who hold the citizenship (tabi’iyah) and the state has the task of preserving the right to dispose of them," and therefore the state in Islam does not need originally to impose taxes for the conduct its work because it has money, except in rare and non-permanent circumstances.
Allah (swt) says,
(أَفَحُكْمَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حُكْمًا لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ)
“Then is it the judgement of [the time of] ignorance they desire? But who is better than Allah in judgement for a people who are certain [in faith]” [Al-Ma’ida: 50]
O Muslims ... O our People in Jordan
We see increased zeal and movement against injustice and gagging and arrests for just expressing an opinion and rejecting corruption, poverty and unemployment and taxes, But this popular movement and awakening of our sons is must not be separate from our Islamic identity and creed, this must not be absent from our minds, while we are seeking change. Our affiliation is to Islam and to its legislations that address all problems of life including the economic ones. Nor should the regime, its politicians and governments deceive us with their choices in dealing with our economic, political and social problems by making the deriving source for the solution the reality that they created it. The regime find no issue in replacing a government by another for a while, and does not mind manipulating the numbers, increase tax exemptions or raise the ceiling of the tax mandate, these are cheaters of the people and do not commit to any covenant with us or care about ties of kinship the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
«مَا مِنْ عَبْدِ يَسْتَرْعِيهِ اللَّهُ رَعِيَّةً، يَمُوتُ يَوْمَ يَمُوتُ، وَهُوَ غَاشٌّ لِرَعِيَّتِهِ، إِلَّا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ»
“Any slave given the responsibility by Allah over the affairs of the people, and on the day of his death he dies while he was cheating them, Allah will make Jannah forbidden (Haram) for him.”
We in Hizb ut Tahrir have no doubt that our only liberation is by Islam as a system of government and a system of life, and that the spread of economic and political problems and crises will not work, and that the temporary patching solutions are quickly eliminated and the problem resurface again.
Therefore, we invite you to work with us ... with the leader that does not lie to the people, to implement the law of Allah by establishing the Khilafah Rashida (Caliphate) state on the method of Prophethood, and we are always ready to communicate with you, and explain our vision to address any political issue or issue of the Ummah. And you can view all our books and statements and our vision on the political and intellectual work to resume Islamic life on our multiple official websites and on the websites on social media and on the Facebook pages.
“And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning.” [Al-A’raf: 96]
