A Stand by the Families of the Detained Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir in front of the House of Representatives

The families of the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir in Jordan, detained by the Regime Security Court, carried out a protest in front of the House of Representatives, this morning, Wednesday 02/14/2024, in which they called on the Presidency of the Council and the Chairman of the Public Liberties and Human Rights Committee to work and communicate with those concerned for the immediate release of their sons who are detained because of expressing their opinion where they did not commit any terrorist act, or any crime in regime security terms. They were transferred to the regime security court on charges of carrying out an intentional act that would endanger the security and safety of society, in violation of the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Law!

Their arrest occurred after distributing a leaflet from the Hizb after Friday prayers on November 10, 2023, calling for support for the people of Gaza and addressing the people of power and armies by saying: “O Soldiers in the Muslim Armies.

[أَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَشِيدٌ]

“Is there not among you a man of reason?” [Hud 11:78]. In it, it addressed the soldiers in the Muslim armies, saying: “Does the blood of your brothers and sisters being shed in Gaza Hashem not affect you? Do the cries of children, the appeals of women, and the pleas of the elders not move you to give nusrah (support) to them?” As stated in a leaflet of Hizb ut Tahrir: “The Jewish entity are not people of war or fighting. They are cowards and have been subjected to humiliation and destitution. You witness young believers from your own ranks with weapons incomparable to those of the Jews, and yet they strike them with force."

A delegation of the detainees’ families handed over to the Council’s General Secretariat a letter addressed to the Presidency of the House of Representatives and the Chairman of the Council’s Public Liberties Committee. The following is the text of the letter:

الحمد لله رب العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين...

After greetings and respect:

We are a group of families of freedom of opinion detainees. The security services arrested our sons last Friday, the tenth of November 2023, after demanding that they mobilize armies to support our people in Gaza Hashem, after we saw with our own eyes the scale of killing and destruction at the hands of the villainous sons of Zionists and with the cooperation of all Kufr (disbelieving) states, led by America, Britain, Germany, and France.

And here you are witnessing with your own eyes, more than four months after this brutal aggression, the tremendous steadfastness of our people, international silence, calls and resolutions demanding the cessation of aggression and the introduction of aid, while the enemy is waging its deception and crimes, and hundreds of our people are being killed and displaced every day... Many of the people of this good country have become convinced that there is no way to stop this crime against our people in Gaza Hashem, except by force, by moving armies, or even by threatening to move armies.

So where is the crime in this request and this right opinion that our sons demanded which required their arrest, and even subjecting them to arrest and detention before the State Security Court as if they were terrorists?!

Therefore, we ask Your Excellency to demand the release of our sons who have been detained for more than three months, since freedoms in this country have been guaranteed by the Jordanian Constitution, and freedom of opinion and expression is an inherent right in the Constitution.

We, in turn, in Hizb ut Tahrir confirm that the regime has no excuse for arresting these young men from Hizb ut Tahrir who are pious and protective of their religion. We consider them as such and do not praise them before Allah. All they did was what their Deen Islam dictated by demanding that the armies support the oppressed people of Gaza in compliance with the words of Allah Almighty:

[وَإِنِ اسْتَنصَرُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ]

“if they seek your help ˹against persecution˺ in faith, it is your obligation to help them” [Al-Anfal 8:72]. The war on Gaza has entered its fifth month, so does this act require arrest and prosecution in the state court?! Or is the call to implement the provisions of Islam a contrast to the regime’s approach in remaining silent about the crimes of the Jewish entity and supporting America, both of which are enemies. Disregarding the fact that the people of Jordan stood by their brothers in Gaza and expressed their satisfaction with what the Mujahideen did on October 7, 2023, contrary to what they claim in the White House?

We strongly stand by the families of the detained members of our Shabab and demand the security services to immediately release the detained Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir. We emphasize the letter of the families of our youth to the House of Representatives to work hard to stop the accusations of the regime’s security court and to release them, as they are false and unfair charges against the dawah carriers.

[وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ]

“The wrongdoers will come to know what ˹evil˺ end they will meet.” [Ash-Shu’ara 26:227]
