Under Democracy, Islam will be Slandered Daily

Following the recent slandering of the noble Qur'an through desecration, of urinating by a Christian youth in the outskirts of Dar-es-salaam, it fueled Muslims to rise up to defend the sanctity and dignity of their Book. Later on, another same act was done by an evil youth by the name Farid Abdullah Farid in the Southern Region on the island of Pemba (Zanzibar Leo 10/10/2012). We in Hizb ut-Tahrir East Africa would like to bring to light the following:

Firstly: The international campaign of enmity against Islam led by non-Muslims, especially America, is involved directly in the increase of these slanders. As these slanders are committed in their countries and sponsored by state organizations, these have emboldened more and more slanderous acts against Islam in various parts of the world. Even individuals taking queue and slandering Islam and its glory.

Secondly: Evil thoughts emanating from the wrong western ideology of democracy in the name of "personal freedom" and "freedom of expression" have an effect on the masses who think they have freedom to do and say whatever they want.

Thirdly: States which imitate the democratic system under pressure from major states lack decisive laws to prevent and take effective action against those who undertake slanderous acts against Islam. This is due to two reasons. First, these states are not there to propagate and defend the Islamic aqeedah. Second, these states have a natural cancer of open favoritism towards non-Islamic religions. This leads to Muslims legitimately losing confidence in governments concerning societal issues and any of their problems handled by the state. Sometimes, such a situation leads to individual Muslims taking the law in their own hands and committing haram actions.

Lastly: We call upon the Muslims and the enlightened among non-Muslims, that relations among ordinary people under the democratic system is always problematic as it is not a system of peace and justice that takes care of religion and unifies the people. Time has come where the world should be ruled by an alternative ideology which is Islam under the Khilafah "Caliphate" Rashidah state, an ideology known to all as to how it managed to harness relations between the people without regard to religion, colour, race, etc.
