Life under Capitalism is Misery and Has Totally become a Sample of Hell on Earth

Hizb ut Tahrir / Kenya is alarmed at the rate of kidnapped persons across the country. Cases recorded by Kenyan security personnel revealed that criminals were out to kidnap girls and children and then demand their families for money. Videos have surfaced online showing victims being tortured, abused and barely alive. In this regard we wish to state the following:

Even if these cases are becoming rampant and indeed are inherently causing fear, we would however, warn the public at large that it is also not necessary to add to the fear by spreading news without thorough investigation upon its reliability. This is one of profound teaching of Islam. Allah Taala says:

(يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَن تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِينَ)

“O you who believe! If a Faasiq (liar — evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done” [Al-Hujuraat 49:6].

This sad trend of missing, murdered children, girls and individuals which has indeed caused shivers and jitters to Kenyans. As for the Muslim families in the country, this is an additional catastrophe as they have been long experiencing the systematic, widespread, and carefully planned extrajudicial executions undertaken on a regular basis by the Kenyan police under the ‘War on Terror’. This is an indication that life under Capitalism is misery and has totally become a sample of hell on earth.

Hardships of life attributed by Capitalism has fueled the existence of these cases in the society as everyone runs amok and uses any evil means in pursuit of a ‘better life’. Parents also do not have enough time to spend with their children as they find themselves chasing after life. We would like however to remind parents that children have the right to be safe, to be treated with affection and to be protected against cruelty and abuse.

Finally, we categorically state these cases are not only common in Kenya but the world at large. In this regard, Muslims should embark on their abandoned tedious obligation to work towards the sole purpose of the reestablishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) based on the method of the Prophethood in one of the many Muslims countries, that is the only ruling system potent of safeguarding citizens against any kind of brutality.
