Press Release
The Democratic System Rules by Other than What Allah Revealed
[وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللهِ حُكْماً لِقَوْمٍ يُوْقِنُونَ]

“But who is better than Allah in judgement for a people who are certain [in faith]” [Al-Ma’ida: 50]
(Translated)

The country is occupied these days with frantic calls for the election of new candidates for the Ummah Council, after the issuance of a decree by the emir to dissolve the previous council and the call for new elections to be held on Saturday, 26/11/ 2016.

While people are busy with the details and issues of the local political scene, we would like to draw attention to matters in their proper place:

To rule by Allah’s Shariah in all disputes between the people is an obligation. Allah (swt) linked it to belief, He says:

[فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا]

But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission” [an-Nisa’: 65]

The issue that Shariah contains rulings that organise the governance of the people and the relationship between the ruler and the ruled, is a settled, clear, and unquestionable matter.

The Democratic system stipulates that sovereignty is for the people, ruling and the right to legislate belongs to the people, the people have the right to appoint the ruler, and the right to remove him, and have the right to legislate the constitution and laws, and the right to cancel, amend, and reform them.

Whereas in the Islamic ruling system, the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate), sovereignty belongs to the Shar’i not to the people, neither the people nor the Khaleefah have the right to legislate, Allah (swt) is the Legislator. People (Ummah) do not have the right to remove the ruler, he is removed by the Shariah, but the Ummah has the right to appoint him, because Islam has made the authority for the Ummah, so people choose a representative (Khaleefah) and give him the Bay’ah.

From this point, we stress that seeking Allah’s pleasure comes first; the political stability can only be achieved by following Allah’s Law and the rejection of the democratic system. Allah Azza Wa Jal said:

[وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا]

“And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life” [Ta-Ha: 124]

The true slogan that must be raised by every sincere person seeking the correct political solution should be: “Sovereignty is for the Shar’i and the Sultan (authority) is for the Ummah” Yes, sovereignty is for the Shar’i, and everyone is subject to Shar’i and not the opposite, where the Shar’i is subject to yes or no votes!!

And yes, the Sultan (authority) is for the Ummah, the Ummah choose a ruler who implements the Shariah, and to take away this right is a crime in the Islamic law. Omar Bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "If a man swore allegiance to a another man without consulting Muslims, neither him nor the one he gave allegiance to must be followed, they have put themselves at risk to be killed”.
