A Meeting Between a Delegation from Saida (Sidon) and Representatives of Hizb ut Tahrir
(Translated)

The Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in the city of Saida (Sidon) held a meeting between Dr. Ali Ash-Sheikh Ammar, and Br. Yusuf Mousselmani, and Sheikh Mohiyddin A’ntar - representatives of the municipality electoral list that is considered a formation to represent the Islamic forces in the city of Saida (Sidon) - and between Engineer Bilal Zaidan and Al-Hajj Hassan Nahas from Hizb ut Tahrir.

During the meeting, the general situation in the city of Sidon was discussed, and the attempts by the parties associated with the traditional political forces and its allies to dominate the city's political decision... and that it is necessary to break this monopoly to reflect the people of the city, who represent only the interests of the city, and to care for its affairs without the association to political parties’ agendas, who clearly are not looking after the interests of the city and its people and prioritize the interests of politicians, particularly in the atmosphere of electives and municipal elections.

During the meeting, we emphasized that the legitimate position of Hizb ut Tahrir is clear in this regard that (in origin these elections are administrative, and thus are permitted, but the reality in Muslim countries - including Lebanon - that the authority does not keep it as administrative, but will also include other activities, including the forbidden actions (in regards to the Shariah), and actions serving politicians, leaving the administrative roles like positions of ruling, that do not serve the interests of the people and taking care of their affairs, and this is why it becomes Islamically prohibited... and therefore the candidates for such administrative positions must be strong and not linked to the political class, to face these pressures and do not succumb to them in anyway.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir have emphasized the need for uniting the Muslims ranks in Lebanon in general and in Sidon in particular, for the service of Muslims and to take care of their affairs and their interests, and that we are for the unification of Muslims in every situation, and breaking the monopoly of the political class in administrative positions, which should be for the people and whom they choose. We hope for the best for them and the city of Sidon and for every Muslim who carries the burdens of his family and Ummah, and makes the welfare of their affairs in these administrative positions in accordance with the rulings and laws of the Shariah of Allah.

We, by the permission of Allah, will continue to give sincere advice for each worker of the people of Islam, which was confirmed by our Shariah and Deen
