Obituary of a Da’wah Carrier

[مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلاً]

“Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration” [Al-Ahzab (33): 23].

Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia expresses its deepest condolences and submits to the will (Qada’) of Allah (swt) on the passing of one of its esteemed members

USTAZ SYAHRIL BIN NOHONG (ABU QAIM BI AMRILLAH)

who returned to Allah (swt) on Wednesday, 23 Jumada al-Akhar 1446 AH, corresponding to 25 December 2024 CE, in Sandakan, Sabah, at the age of 46. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, leaving behind a devoted widow and seven children.

Ustaz Syahril was among the earliest members of Hizb ut Tahrir in Sandakan, Sabah, and was widely known for his piety (Zuhud), amiable character, unwavering commitment, and sincerity in his efforts to uphold the religion of Allah. Upon recognizing the truth, he embraced it without hesitation and devoted his life wholeheartedly to learning, teaching, and striving for Islam and the reestablishment of the Caliphate (Khilafah). Despite enduring many hardships, he never wavered in his determination, nor did he complain. He was a kind and beloved companion to all who knew him.

We beseech Allah (swt) to forgive all his sins, accept his deeds, expand and adorn his resting place, and grant him the highest ranks in Paradise alongside the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. May Allah (swt) grant patience and strength to his bereaved family. While we deeply mourn his loss, we remain steadfast in saying only what pleases our Lord:

[إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ]

“Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return” [Al-Baqarah (2): 156].
