One Foot Cannot Stand on Two Boats! Abolish Democracy and Re-Establish Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood

The 15 December 2018 tweet by Pakistan’s Prime Minister advocating the Khilafah Rashida has become a subject of debate in society. The tweet featured a video by Dr. Israr Ahmed who quoted the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as saying that Pakistan needs to be made a model of the Khilafah Rashida and that the Muslims should establish their authority on earth. By appealing to the Islamic sentiments of Pakistan, yet stubbornly ruling by Western laws, the Bajwa-Imran regime is trying to stand on two boats at the same time. As such the regime has exposed itself to ridicule, mockery and accusations of hypocrisy. Worse, by toying with the pure attachment of the Muslims to Islam and playing with the Deen of Islam, it exposes itself to the anger of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) said,

(وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ]

“And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:42]

It is upon the Muslims to reject rulers that strive to serve the West in deed but seek to appease the Muslims with words alone. The Ummah around the world has awoken to its purpose in life which is to rule by all that Allah (swt) has revealed. The last attempt of the rulers of Muslims to delay the return of Islam as an authority is to conceal their rule of kufr by the garb of Islam. Let the Muslims turn away from Democracy and firmly commit to the return of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood.

Let them work for a state with a constitution whose every article has evidences from the Quran and Sunnah. Let them work for a state that works to unify the Muslim Lands as one state, rather than dividing and weakening them upon Westphalian nation state lines. Let them work for a state that meets military invasion with military force rather than tables, pens, papers and talks. And let them work for a state that mobilizes the economic resources of the Muslims to secure the prosperity of each citizens, rather than surrendering them to exploitation by the colonialists. Ahmad on the authority of Hudhayfah bin al Yaman (ra) narrated that RasulAllah (saaw) said,

«تَكُونُ النُّبُوَّةُ فِيكُمْ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةٌ عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكًا عَاضًّا فَيَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكًا جَبْرِيَّةً فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ»

“Prophethood will last with you for as long as Allah wants it to last. Then there will be Khilafah according to the Method of Prophethood, and things will be as Allah wishes them to be. Then Allah will end it when He wishes. Then there will be hereditary rule, and things will be as Allah wishes them to be. Then Allah will end it when He wishes. Then there will be an oppressive rule, and things will be as Allah wishes them to be. Then Allah will end it when He wishes. Then there will be a Khilafah according to the method of Prophethood.” Then he (saaw) fell silent.”
