Since the Fall of Our Khilafah on 28 Rajab 1342, what has the Ummah Seen of Good and what has it Suffered of Calamities?!

Indeed, since 28 Rajab 1342 AH, corresponding to 3 March 1924 CE, when the Khilafah (Caliphate) was destroyed by the British colonialists, with the collaboration of traitors from the Arabs and Turks, the Ummah has seen misery in every aspect of life, in every part of the Muslim World.

The Khilafah, which once provided sanctuary for those who were persecuted because of their beliefs, such as the Jews escaping the Christian’s Spanish Inquisition, is no more and so, the Muslims themselves are fleeing from their war torn lands, whether in Syria or Yemen, risking suffocation and drowning in their rush to escape. The Khilafah, which was the leading state in the world for over a thousand years, with its armies opening new lands to Islam, is no more and so the Muslims find themselves defenseless before aggressing enemies, with the current rulers issuing weightless condemnations, whilst keeping the willing troops chained to their barracks. So what have we seen of good and what have we suffered of calamities, since the fall of our Khilafah?

The Khilafah, whose economy was a shining example for the entire world, is no more and so the Muslims now have their backs broken in hardship and poverty, even though the lion’s share of the world’s resources is found under their very feet. The Khilafah, which had once collected Zakah from an Africa where there was no needy to distribute to, is no more and so Africa and beyond it is stricken by famine and poverty. The Khilafah, which once sent ships laden with food to help the Christians of Ireland, ravaged by famine, is no more and so now Muslims struggle to feed themselves, despite having abundant rivers and fertile agricultural lands. Have we not suffered enough of calamities, since the fall of our Khilafah?

The Khilafah, whose universities were the favored destination in the world for the princes and princesses of Europe and whose Arabic language was a sign of the learned, is no more and so our youth clamber over each other to reach the West for a decent education. And the Khilafah, whose judiciary judged by all that Allah (swt) has revealed for all of its citizens regardless of their position or status, is no more so now Muslims face rampant corruption, whilst the rights of the weak are trampled by the strong. So, really, can we ever expect good, without the restoration of our Khilafah?

Indeed, there can never be any good in the violation of the order of RasulAllah (saaw) and such a violation will only be met with calamities. It is the order of RasulAllah (saaw) that the Muslims give Bay’ah (Pledge of Allegiance) to a single Khaleefah in every era, who would rule them by the Book of Allah (swt) and the Sunnah of RasulAllah (saaw). RasulAllah (saaw) said,

«کانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ تَسُوسُهُمْ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ كُلَّمَا هَلَكَ نَبِيٌّ خَلَفَهُ نَبِيٌّ وَإِنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي وَسَيَكُونُ خُلَفَاءُ فَيَكْثُرُونَ
بِبَيْعَةِ الْأَوَّلِ فَالْأَوَّلِ أَعْطُوهُمْ حَقَّهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَائِلُهُمْ عَمَّا اسْتَرْعَاهُمْ»

“The affairs of Bani Isra’eel were looked after by the Prophets. After a Prophet died, he was succeeded by another Prophet. There is no Prophet after me, but there will be Khulaf’aa.” They asked, “What do you order us to do?” He replied, “Give them bay’ah one after another, for Allah will ask them about what He entrusted them with.” (Bukhari). So is it not time that we all worked to re-establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood?
