 Press Release
Transportation Crisis Confirms the Ongoing Crises of the Government of Sudan
And Exposes its Inability to Take Care of People's Affairs
(Translated)

In the past few days, the transport crisis in the capital city of Khartoum has worsened, as large stations became empty of public transport, and became overcrowded by people, men, women and children, leaving people between one of two options: either working by feet or holding expensive deals with owners of private vehicles to transport them to their home.

There are two main reasons for this crisis:

First, the transport sector in Sudan is repulsive and unattractive because of the state's intervention in imposing heavy fines on vehicle owners, such as licensing, insurance, daily traffic police levies, etc., together with the state fixing a certain amount of fuel, charging for the receipt of fueling tickets, apart from the fuel charge itself, all this has made operating costs high, in addition to the deteriorated roads ... These have made many people leave work in the transportation sector, and turn to just renting their cars to companies, private schools or others.

Secondly, the state does not have any sense of care and responsibility towards its own citizens, otherwise it would have sought to find a solution. For example, it would have mobilized all state-owned buses and vans to transport people, but the state is unable to solve this problem. This has been confirmed by the Governor of Khartoum State, Abdul Rahim Mohammed Hussein, who said in the transport and communication forum which was concluded at the Khartoum Police Club, on Sunday, 14/5/2017:

“People whose baldness have reached mine and they have not found solutions under the scarce budgets) and added (even if your baldness reached my baldness, you would not find a solution). No doubt that the helpless must step down to allow people to solve their problems behind a capable and sincere leadership.

One of the primary duties of the ruler is to be a guardian for the people, diligent in solving their problems. Islam has warned the rulers who make matters difficult for the people and straiten on them ... Imam Muslim narrated that Sayyedah Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) said in my house this:

«اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ أُمَّتِي شَيْئًا فَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاشْقُقْ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ أُمَّتِي شَيْئًا فَرَفَقَ بِهِمْ فَارْفُقْ بِهِ»

“O Allah if a guardian is in charge of a matter of my Ummah and makes it difficult for them, then make matters difficult for him, and if a guardian is in charge of a matter of my Ummah and makes it easy for them, then make matters easy for him.” (Narrated by Muslim, Ahmad, al-Bayhaqi and others). This is Omar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, affirmed in him great saying: “If a mule slipped in Iraq, I would be held accountable for not paving the way for it”.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Sudan: confirm that the only way out of these crises is to establish the Khilafah Rashidah (righteous Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood; the state of care; which makes attention to solving people's problems its top priority; the ruler of which is capable of solving people's problems, and he is the first to starve if people get hungry, and the last to get full. Thus, the honored people of Sudan should support the great project of the Khilafah to solve their problems with Islam and above all to satisfy Allah (swt) by applying His great law. Allah (swt) says:

(يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ)

“O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life.” [Al-Anfaal: 24].
