Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmat Allahu wa Barakatu,
Subject: Response to a Report Published in Newspaper

We read the report found in your reputable newspaper, (Issue No. 26: Saturday, 5 April 2014, p. 3), under the heading: "A Party ashamed to mention the Name of its Official Spokeswoman... soft politics, crossroads between past and present", where the following was stated: "... there is a hidden practice of holiness and purity.. a holiness that made the spokeswoman for the Women's Section of Hizb ut Tahrir shy away from mentioning her name in an official press release pertaining to "the Woman's Section campaign to mobilize the motivation of the Muslim woman to resume the Islamic way of life, rather the spokeswoman sufficed to speak in the name of the press release without mentioning her name".

I would like to comment on what came in this report, and we hope that correspondence will continue between your reputable newspaper and us, and that it will be solely for the sake of Allah (swt), aiming to attest the truth and refute the false, not to vindicate anyone, but only to vindicate the ideas and concepts of the great Islam. So we say, and Allah (swt) knows our intention:

First: The mentioning of names associated with the proclaiming of truth and calling to Allah manifestly (as in the publications of Hizb ut Tahrir) is a cause for honor and pride and not an embarrassment, in which the Hizb abides within the constraints of the Shari'ah that separates the work of woman from the work of men. And the name of the Official Spokeswoman is mentioned in the appropriate place.

Allah (swt) said:

(وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلاً مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللََِّّ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ)

"And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, 'Indeed, I am of the Muslims'." [al-Fussilat: 33]

Second: One of the matters that plagues the Islamic Ummah is that when the Hizb is mentioned, one searches for persons. This is a misperception of the reality of the Hizb, because the Hizb is a structure centered on an idea that it wants to implement in real life. Therefore, the basis of the Hizb is the idea from the ideology that it emanates from, and not the personalities of the people gathered around the idea even if they are in a position of responsibility and leadership. This is a notable difference between the Hizb and other parties, for the structure works on the methodology of the Messenger (saw) to restore the Islamic way of life and establish the Khilafah "Caliphate", and its goal is not to attain worldly positions.

The leadership in Hizb ut Tahrir is an intellectual leadership, and not personal leadership as is the case with other parties. It is leadership to the Islamic Aqeedah, and to the systems of Islam that Hizb ut Tahrir adopted in its constitution, books and leaflets. The Hizb but presents its ideas to the intellectuals, scholars, media, and other people of opinion to consider it in honesty, impartially and sincerity, and to either adopt and spread it, as the idea itself obliges, or to critique and respond to it. Initially a person should deliberate the validity of the idea from its source. For example, the great ideology of Islam and its ruling is the strength of the evidence, as well with sincerity to remedy the applicability of the solution's idea to reality. Therefore, a person must not primarily allow political work to be connected to the politician, whereas it should only be connected to the idea.

Third: We hope that in the near future, the media scene will be concerned with political ideas and actions from what Hizb ut Tahrir issues of press releases and leaflets as part of the focus and intellectual struggle. Thus, undertake the role of the media pioneering in forming the necessary public awareness so that our Ummah will identify the method of its revival based on the Islamic Aqeedah.
