Forbidding Legal Marriage Reassures Once Again the Western Hypocrisy
(Translated)
Some of the Holland parties, such as the BVDA party and the VVD party, conducted recently a discussion about the issue of marriage according to the Islamic Shariah laws, and that occurred after interviewing Sheikh Fawwaz Junaid, who is the Imam of the mosque in the city of The Hague. It is known that the Holland law forbids marriage according to the Islamic Shariah laws if the marriage contract was not documented according to the Holland law, but the various excuses which were driven to justify this forbiddance was actually a narrow-minded and naïve reality. This is because the Holland politicians say that marriage according to the Islamic Shariah laws causes injustice to the woman, and puts the woman under the domination and mercy of the man. The message that these politicians and leaders of the public opinion want to send to the people in Holland is that the marriage laws in Islam are merely barbaric because they're unfair to the woman, in order to justify the decision of forbidding marriage according to the Islamic Shariah law before the marriage contract is documented according to the Holland law.
Marriage according to the Islamic rules is a religious contract between people, and it now seems that the people of Holland have started to restrict even the simplest matters such as marriage between the Muslims. And they state that it has no place among them, even though the West propagates false proclamations that the state is secular in Europe, and that it is neutral and can encompass all religions, and different religious followers can live peacefully in it. As for their excuses about the woman in Islam and assimilating her rights, they are weak excuses with no proof, as it is known to everyone that Islam has legislated laws to ensure woman's rights, to protect her, and to preserve her status before marriage, during marriage, and afterwards.
In addition to that, the excuses of the politicians and decision makers in Holland behind the forbiddance of marriage according to the Islamic Shariah laws are ambiguous and contradictory excuses, because they claim that this ban decision is just to protect the Muslim woman and to ensure her rights. However, it is obvious to see that those politicians themselves are forbidding the Muslim woman her right to wear the Hjiab and Niqab at work and in some public places. They actually are the ones who cut from her monthly salary if she refused to take off the Niqab. It is thus ironic to say that the decision of forbidding marriage according to the Islamic laws is for protecting and ensuring the rights of the Muslim woman.
It cannot also be hidden from anyone that the decision of forbidding a legal marriage is just an expression of policy from among several policies to complicate the commitment of the Muslims to the Islamic laws which preserves their identity in Holland. They are trying to show that marriage according to the Holland law is the liberation of the Muslim woman from injustice and oppression, though in reality, which cannot be hidden from anyone, the Islamic values alone are capable of protecting the woman from exploitation and oppression.
