Sadiq Belaid, who was appointed by President Kais Saied as coordinator of the National Consultative Commission for the preparation of a new constitution, has openly declared his vile hostility to Islam. In a flagrant defiance of the sentiments of Muslims in Tunisia, he brazenly declares that the new draft constitution will not stipulate that Islam is the state religion, as was the case in previous man-made constitutions.
