Concerning the Assault on Hanan Al-Khamiri, the Official Spokesperson, and Her Family
(Translated)

In the wake of the attack experienced by Attorney Hanan Al-Khamiri, official spokesperson of the Women's Section Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Tunisia, on Monday, March 12, 2018, by a traffic police agent along with her husband and young children (aged 8-10 years old), medical tests taken by the family confirmed that they were subjected to physical aggression and emotional turmoil.

We, the Women’s Section of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir / Tunisia, emphasize:

- Our support to Hanan Al-Khamiri and her family for what they experienced.

- The exposure of a woman and her family to violence and humiliation in a country whose officials brag about women's rights and protecting them from all kinds of violence is a blatant proof of their lies and traffickers in women's issues.

- Justifying this assault by saying that the policeman did not know that she was a lawyer is evidence of the existing mentality of discrimination.

- This infringement is evidence of this system’s failure in protecting the people of this country from the inside as well as protecting them from the colonizer.

- This system continues to follow the mindset that security is the protection of power from the people of the country, and is working on separating security from the people.

- Therefore we say to this system: You have failed to protect women and dignity and therefore you have no right to talk about sovereignty or security.

- The Khilafah system (Caliphate) is the only guarantor of the lives of people in accordance with their nature and convinces the mind.
