Although the Kasbah Square has been Converted into a Security and Military Barracks

Hizb ut Tahrir Records a Political Position Refusing to Sell Tunisia to the International Monetary Fund and its Derivatives
(Translated)

The president’s government was not satisfied with signing a transit deed to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to tighten its grip on the country and the people, nor was it satisfied with bribing the Tunisian General Labour Union for its participation in the crime of submitting to the conditions of the IMF and its lethal doses, nor was it satisfied with fabricating charges against the members of Hizb ut Tahrir unfairly and slanderously to exhaust the party and occupy it by itself so that it would not expose its conspiracies with the colonial circles and their financial arms. It was not satisfied with all of that. So, this morning, 25/10/2022, it turned the Kasbah Square into a military and security barracks, and closed all entrances to and from the Government Palace Square, and prevented crowds from arriving and gathering to prevent the picket called for by Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah of Tunisia to address the policy of selling Tunisia to the colonialists. Despite this, the party was able to hold the picket and send the following messages:

1- Muzzling the mouths and not allowing Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Tunisia to express its rejection of the agreement between the government and IMF confirms that the state does not own its political decision, and that foreign ambassadors do not allow it to leave those who express their rejection of Western hegemony and its financial arms. The West allows demonstrations only for those who acknowledge their dominance over the country, civilly and materially, and do not allow anything less than that.

2- Foreign loans have a real harm to the country’s independence and political decision. In the past, foreign loans for financing were a path to direct colonization of the country. Through it, the French came to colonize Tunisia, and today it is a primary way to extend influence and plot against the country, and no good ever comes from it.

3- There is no solution for us except by rejecting the capitalist ideology and its economic and financial system, and rejecting international aid and loans from its banks, and in return activating the Islamic civilizational project to anticipate a new, safe and secure life free from economic or financial crises, in the light of the justice of the Islamic economic system.

The picket included speeches and slogans raised against the government’s policies that mortgaged the country and the people to colonialism. A delegation from Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Tunisia headed to the government to hand them an open letter from the party entitled: “Signing an Agreement with the International Monetary Fund is Another Instrument for the Colonization of Tunisia.”

In conclusion, we say: Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Tunisia was able to record a political position refusing to mortgage the country and people to Western circles, at a time when the political class (rulers and opposition) fell into the arms of the West and acknowledged its hegemony over the country. Today, Hizb ut Tahrir is more determined and resolute to bring down Western hegemony and its local tools, and to get the country out of its crises by establishing a rightly-guided rule on the basis of Islam in the shadow of a rightly-guided Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood. Allah (swt) says:

[الَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَمَرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَلِلَّهِ عَاقِبَةُ الْأُمُورِ]

“[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters” [Al-Hajj: 41].
