Arrest of the Uncle Khalil bin Shoshan is a State Scandal
(Translated)

Yesterday, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, a security agency in Fouchana, Ben Arous Governorate, arrested Uncle Khalil bin Shoshan, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir.

As for the details of the arrest, Uncle Khalil was contacted by the Fouchana area on the basis that he had applied for a taxi license. Upon his arrival, he was taken to his home, which they searched, and then they took him, confiscating a collection of the Hizb's books and copies of the Al-Tahrir Newspaper from his house. When his family followed him, they did not find him, and one of the agents directed them to the Ben Arous area, where they also did not find him. He was eventually found in the Bou Mhel area, which did not allow his family to visit him. Late in the evening, they contacted his son to inform him that he was being held to be presented to the Ben Arous court this morning.

In light of this unjust arrest, we, the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah of Tunisia, clarify the following:

1. We denounce and condemn this mentality exhibited by the authorities and their apparatus. We affirm that these repeated arbitrary arrests of the Shabab (members) of Hizb ut Tahrir are a state scandal, highlighting the incompetence of those in power and exposing the falsehood of their claims of adherence to the constitutional and legal norms they themselves have established.

2. We remind the regime, which came to power promising the people of Tunisia a break from the policies of the previous oppressive regimes that ruled over this Ummah for decades and departed unmissed, that the policy of repression, silencing voices, and hindering the activities of a Hizb deeply rooted in the Muslim Ummah, with its sincere call spread across the world, will not be weakened by the practices of these corrupt and bankrupt regimes, nor will it diminish the resolve of its Shabab.

3. The nearly daily arrest of the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir is no secret, and its reason is well-known. It is part of the war waged by the regimes in Muslim countries against Hizb ut Tahrir. This is only because Hizb ut Tahrir has raised its voice, calling on the armies of the Muslims to move and fulfill their duty to put an end to the "tragedy of the era" in Gaza and to the crimes of this hypocritical Western world against children, women, and the elderly who are falling as martyrs by the thousands, amid the deafening silence and betrayal of the Arab regimes towards their Ummah.

4. We affirm that the era of silencing voices is over, and it will not deter the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir from continuing on their path. This method was tried by the regime of the ousted president and many others before them, and they perished while Hizb ut Tahrir remained. The call to establish the Khilafah, which will avenge the Blessed Land of Palestine and all Muslims whose dignity has been violated due to the absence of Islam in legislation and governance, will continue on its path until Allah fulfills His promise of succession and empowerment, and until the glad tidings of the Messenger of Allah (saw) are realized with the establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood. The final outcome belongs to the righteous. Allah (swt) says:

[تِلْكَ الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوّاً فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فَسَاداً وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ]

“That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous.” [Surat Al-Qasas:83].

We reiterate: We, in Hizb ut Tahrir, are firmly convinced and fully believe in the nearness of the nusrah (victory) from Allah for the Ummah and the fulfillment of His promise of empowerment for His Deen, His state, and those working to establish it. The harm inflicted by these failing and fragile regimes does not affect us. Allah (swt) says:

[إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُحَادُّونَ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أُوْلَئِكَ فِي الأَذَلِّينَ * كَتَبَ اللهُ لَأَغْلِبَنَّ أَنَا وَرُسُلِي إِنَّ اللهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ]

“Indeed, the ones who oppose Allah and His Messenger - those will be among the most humbled, Allah has written, "I will surely overcome, I and My messengers." Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.” [Surat Al-Mujadila: 20-1].
