News Right Now: Nowhere to Go

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. Welcome to News Right Now - Nowhere To Go

June 20th marked World Refugee Day highlighting the severity of the crisis, the United Nations reported that more than 70 million people were forced to flee their homes, the highest number since records began.

The nearly 71 million people, 26 million were refugees (half of which are children), 41.3 million were displaced within their own country, and 3.5 million were asylum seekers. The breakdown of refugees shows that they’re overwhelmingly from Muslim lands; 6.7 million from Syria, 2.7 million from Afghanistan, 2.3 million from South Sudan, 1.1 million from Myanmar, and 1 million from Somalia.

The breakdown of refugees shows that they’re overwhelmingly from Muslim lands; 6.7 million from Syria, 2.7 million from Afghanistan, 2.3 million from South Sudan, 1.1 million from Myanmar, and 1 million from Somalia.

To add insult to injury, many refugees seek asylum in Western countries, often times they are met with rejection and hostility, while the shameless rulers in the Muslim lands watch from afar. The tragic reality is that Muslims from Syria, Palestine, Myanmar, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Iraq, East Turkestan, and Yemen are victims of countless crises and tragedies; all of which are man-made political disasters.

It is the Capitalist system, that imposes itself on the entire world through IMF loans, “free markets”, and corrupt tyrants that do the bidding of their Western Capitalist masters.

Rather than defending the Ummah from Capitalism, the corrupt Muslim rulers implement the Capitalist policies upon their populations, creating disaster after disaster. At times they may impose economic solutions that cause people to leave at others they engage in the Wests foreign policy objectives which are the cause of long drawn out wars. And if they do offer assistance, far from being comprehensive and systematic, it’s temporary and merely treats the symptoms.

The Islamic solution is to offer refuge and assistance to those that seek it. This has been seen countless times in history, even to the point that Jews sought refuge from the Islamic Khilafah during the time of the Spanish Inquisition. For the past 90 years the Ummah has experienced crisis after crisis. From the occupation of Palestine, to the invasion of Iraq, to the massacres in Bosnia and Kosova, to Kashmir, to the wars in Afghanistan, to the brutality in East Turkestan, to the massacres in the Central African Republic, to the horrors in Myanmar, to the death and disease in Yemen.

It’s time that we as an Ummah realize that these crises are symptoms of the same problem; the disunity of the Islamic lands and the absense of the Islamic form of government, the Khilafah, which will treat all Muslim lands as one and provide safety and security to both Muslims, and non-Muslims in its care. This same state, in the past offered true sanctuary to those fleeing oppression and today too, we will see when the Khilafah returns that it will also welcome those who can no longer live under the oppressive ideology of capitalism.

Jazakum Allahu khairan for joining us. Wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
