On March 4th, France garnered international attention by enacting an amendment to its constitution, becoming the first country to enshrine the right to abortion within its legal framework. This development has been lauded by many as a significant triumph for feminism and was endorsed as a point of national pride by French President Emmanuel Macron. 

On 8 March 2024 the White House official website issued a “Statement from President Joe Biden on International Women’s Day,” in which the American president stated, “The United States stands with women and girls around the world in the critical work of protecting and advancing human rights.” [whitehouse.gov]

 Capitalism is failing – it was always a flawed ideology; benefiting the rich at the expense of the poor or, in other words, keeping a select few healthy and successful through the exploitation of the rest of the world. This hasn’t changed – it’s not going to change. It’s actually getting worse. But it’s also not the reason that I’ve said that Capitalism is failing.
