Press Release
In 6 weeks, UK Coalition government has invited Bahrain's tyrant to lunch and visited the Uzbek tyrant, Karimov

London, UK, April 9th 2012 - The 'king' of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has been invited to join the UK's Queen at her Diamond Jubilee banquet despite his ongoing and bloody repression of those protesting against his UK installed regime.

As ever, the British government talks strongly about freedom and human rights in regions where it suits them, but maintains the status quo when it suits them.

Commenting on this development, Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Britain said: "With one face Cameron and Hague piously preach about how the UK is on the side of the people calling for change in the Muslim world, while with the other they still warmly engage with butchers in Bahrain and elsewhere - just as they did with Assad, Ben Ali, Gaddafi, and Mubarak until their positions became unsustainable."

"They appease them by encouraging them to make reforms, and justify the double standards by arguing that ‘... the situation in different countries is different.'"

"The Bahraini government has murdered unarmed protesters; arrested medical staff for treating injured protesters, and arrested and tortured political opponents. Yet the UK government continues to sell arms to this regime, approving exports of tear gas and crowd control ammunition to its ally over the past year alone."

"Just a few weeks ago, Philip Hammond, UK Defence Secretary made a tour of tyrant-led Central Asian republics, and met Islam Karimov, President of Uzbekistan and one of the world's most ruthless dictators, in Tashkent to discuss closer military co-operation."

"People in the Muslim world must realise that capitalist states like Britain will support tyrants and butchers if it means business contracts and strategic advantages. And they will dump them and look for people to serve their interests when their positions are untenable."

"Real change will only come when there is a new way of thinking in the region and by replacing regimes that serve the tyrants and foreign interests with a new system - the Caliphate, which will stand up to western imperialism in all its forms, and look out for the interests of the people. We believe that increasingly this is what the protestors in the Middle East are marching towards."
