Press Release
Britain and France in North Africa Repeated Invasion of Muslim Countries Cannot be Stopped without the Islamic Khilafah State

Cameron's recent visit to North Africa is more about Britain's desperate attempt to gain influence in the region rather than combating terrorism. In Algeria, he signed a security pact with the current autocratic ruler Abdelaziz Bouteflika. Following this he went to Libya pledging British training and advice for the police and army.

In the wake of the French invasion of Mali, Cameron has committed British military support, citing the rise of ‘Islamist' extremism in the region hence the need for ‘decades' of interference in the region.

Commenting on these latest events Taji Mustafa, media representative of Hizb ut Tahrir in Britain said:

"What we see before us is Britain's attempt to harness influence and profits in Africa. It is nothing to do with benefitting the ordinary people in Algeria, Libya or Mali and more to do with lining the pockets of regional cronies and British companies."

"The invasion of Muslim countries, one after another by these colonial powers, in the name of ‘democracy' has done nothing but cause ever greater bloodshed and instability for the people in these countries."

"When they see a British Prime Minister in Libya, they should remember how supportive Britain was of Muammar Gaddafi, his son Saif ul Islam, Moussa Koussa and other criminal members of the regime."

"When they are offered military and police training, they should recall how Britain courted Gaddafi's son, Khamis (Commander-in-Chief of the infamous Khamis Brigade) through the United Kingdom Trade and Industry Defence and Security Organisation (DSO), a government unit dedicated to promoting British arms exports, since he had proved to be a lucrative customer."

"This is exactly what we heard when America, Britain and France invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. They should look at the hoards of US security personnel crawling over Pakistan today creating havoc. They should look at the senior Afghan and Pakistani military officials trained by the US and now carrying out its agenda at the expense of their countries. They should look as far back as Britain sending Glubb Pasha to train Jordanian officers, making them more loyal to Britain than to the Muslims of Jordan."

"When they see Cameron's warm and friendly embrace of Bouteflika, people should remember the history of this man - supported by the brutal Algerian military - who changed election rules to extend his period in power and they should see the hypocrisy of a prime minister who condemns ‘extremism', then dines with the vilest of extremists."

"Cameron's job is to secure Britain's interests, in other words, arms and energy interests. His rhetoric about ‘extremism' and security is a red herring."

"The Muslim world today, from Pakistan to Mali, has no defence. Our countries are open to colonial powers like Britain, France and America who send their troops into our lands as they please. They have henchmen like Bouteflika, Zardari and Abdullah who are their loyal agents guarding their interests. While Cameron and Hollande execute their 19th century foreign policy, they fail to see what is happening in the region - Ben Ali, Gaddafi, Mubarak are history and Bashar al Assad is on his last legs. Muslims throughout the region can clearly see how these Western powers use the rhetoric of terrorism and democracy to hide their ugly desires on our resources. Muslims everywhere are realizing that what the Muslim world needs is a leadership based on Islam - the Islamic Caliphate - that will unite the Muslim countries, which were divided by the French and the British, and use all its power to expel all foreign interference from our lands."

"It is the only means by which Muslim countries will achieve security and stability for the people, and harness the regions resources such that the revenues go to the people after they are sold at a fair price - not usurped by carpetbaggers." [Ends]
