 Press Release
Hizb ut Tahrir Calls for Mobilizing Armies in Support of Palestine and Al-Aqsa
And the Tunisian Government Releases Repressive Forces to Arrest Its Shabab!
(Translated)

Is it not shameful to arrest young people for supporting Palestine and Al-Aqsa?! Here, we ask the government and its police, whose side are you on?

Hizb ut Tahrir stands with the Ummah and calls for its support (nusrah). Its Shabab are calling for the support of wounded Gaza and the captive Al-Aqsa. However, you have arrested them and taken them to police stations for investigation, possibly even imprisonment. Yes, the police have acted with "vigor and activity" to arrest Hizb ut Tahrir's Shabab in various parts of the country after distributing a pamphlet inviting the people of Tunisia and its brave army to support Palestine and Al-Aqsa. Tunisians are also urged to join Hizb ut Tahrir's march, which started from the Fat’h Mosque and continued to Revolution Street to mobilize the armies in support of the people of Palestine.

The police in Sousse raided the shop of Ammar Rabahi, one of Hizb ut Tahrir's Shabab, to arrest him on the morning of Friday, October 13, 2023. When they couldn't find him, they arrested his son and took him hostage. They demanded that his father, Ammar Rabahi, surrender himself (as if he were a dangerous criminal!) in exchange for his son's release. His son will be presented to the judicial terrorism court at a later time!

On the same day, the police in Kasr Al Saf, visited the home of Munir Amara and questioned his son about his father and who went with him to the march in support of Palestine, as if what he did was a crime deserving of accountability. The security forces in the capital also abducted Nour al-Din, a young man from the city of Sousse, while he was participating in the march. Earlier, Tabarbah Police arrested two young men from Hizb ut-Tahrir, Habib al-Houimli and Mohamed al-Tarabulsi, and then summoned Abdul Hafiz Al-Tawqabri to be tried for distributing a ‘soft’ message inviting the people of Tunisia and its army to support Palestine and Al-Aqsa. In Majaz Al-Bab, the police issued summonses to two young men, Youssef Bin al-Sadiq al-Riyahi and Omar al-Hajri, for the same reason.

Why are the Shabab of the Hizb being arrested? Why are they being summoned for questioning? Is supporting Palestine and Al-Aqsa a crime that warrants police intervention, arrest, and interrogation?

We repeat the question: At a time when the Jews and Americans are dropping tons of bombs atop the heads of our people in Gaza, you are arresting people who are calling on the armies to move in to protect the people in Palestine. Whose side are you on?

In this context, we, the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Tunisia, want to clarify the following:

1. The arrests of Hizb ut Tahrir's Shabab are not individual transgressions by some police officers but rather systematic arrests intended to undermine the Hizb and its Shabab because it champions the causes of the Ummah, such as the issue of Palestine, and exposes the false claims of the rulers regarding their support for Palestine. The solution is not through statements of condemnation and outrage, as that is the act of the incapable or complicit. The real action of states is to prepare and mobilize the armies for Jihad in the path of Allah to defend the land, honor, and Deen.

2. The methods used to arrest Hizb ut Tahrir's Shabab indicate the resurrection of the political and repressive police apparatus from the time of Bourguiba and Ben Ali, with its primary goal being terrorism and intimidation, hoping that the Hizb and its Shabab will cease their activities and calls.

Do you think that by arresting the Shabab of the Hizb, you will silence their voices? No, a thousand times no! The Hizb will not be silenced, and its Shabab will not be silenced. Despite your unjust arrests, they will remain steadfast, raising the banner of truth until Allah judges between us and you.

We address our people in Tunisia, especially those with the power to act, and we say to them:

We did not write this statement to complain or seek sympathy. Instead, we wrote it to expose the falsehood of those who claim to support Palestine and its people. Palestine is burning at the hands of the criminal Zionist entity. It is being butchered by the savage Jewish gangs. Palestine, the land of the Isra and Mi'raj, the blessed land, the first Qibla, is calling for the armies of the Muslims to rescue them. Yet, those pseudo-rulers in Tunisia and elsewhere claim to support Palestine and arrest those who support it. Isn't this a strange and bewildering situation? They claim to support Palestine and Al-Aqsa while keeping their forces in their barracks, only releasing them for repression and arrests!

O People of Tunisia, you, the powerful and capable, you, the descendants of heroic mujahideen:

Now is not the time for complaint, but the time for action, to end this humiliation, to shake off the dust of disgrace and indignity, and to break the chains from the gates of the barracks so that the Muslim armies, including the Tunisian army, can fulfill their duty in rescuing Palestine and the people of Palestine.

Know that Allah is your Supporter, and He will not forsake you. Remember, if you wish, His words:

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَنصُرُوا اللهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ]

“O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.” [Mohammad: 7].
