Army leadership betraying the aspiration of the Muslims of Egypt
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
‘Revolution' for many Egyptians, once a beacon of hope and promise, has now transformed into full scale nightmare. The military, previously regarded as the custodians of the popular uprising that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak, is now viewed with intense suspicion and contempt. The indiscriminate killing of the Coptic Christians at the hands of the military is just the tip of an ice-burg in a catalogue of complaints against Egypt's remaining junta.
Other complaints include a delay in drafting the ‘new' constitution, making the parliament subservient to the military, allowing former Mubarak cronies to stand for parliamentary elections and refusing to remove Egypt's emergency laws. In addition, the military rulers have also indicated that they will postpone the election of the president. "We will keep the power until we have a president," Maj. General Mahmoud Hegazy said. These measures clearly underscore that the military does not see itself playing an interim role in governing. Instead, the military brass is endeavouring to extend its stay in power.
Missing too is American criticism. This was overtly prevalent in the days that led to Mubarak's dismissal from power, but now it appears to be muted. In an interview with the Associated Press, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the United States would continue to pressure long-time leaders to leave power in Syria, Yemen and ensure chaos is averted in Egypt, where demonstrators have succeeded in ousting an autocrat. But she cautioned against overly optimistic forecasts for how quickly each country could make its break with the past. Hence, America's wish is to prevent the liberation of the Egyptian and other Arab people from tyranny until the conditions are right to bring in another compliant government that will safeguard her interests.
The sole reason for the abrupt slow down towards civilian rule, is that both America and Egypt's military rulers are afraid of political Islam. Before the revolution, Egyptians showed strong support for Islamic values. A Pew Poll suggested that 77% of Egyptians believe that thieves should have their hands cut off, 82% believed that adulterers should be stoned and 84% subscribe to the view that apostates should be killed. However, after the ouster of Mubarak, the majority of Egyptians viewed the Islamic State being indispensable for implementing Shariah rules. In May 2011, Al-Ahram reported that 60% of Egyptians wanted to establish an Islamic state. Only 4% of the respondents suggested that a secular system in Egypt would indeed be desirable, while 3% said military rule was suitable for the future of their country.
From this, it is very clear that America does not want a civilian government until the threat of political Islam is either eliminated, or sufficiently diluted and secularized. America is fully aware that the first option is futile, but she recognizes that there still exist individuals and groups that are eager to sell their Deen in exchange for power.
Such people are eager to respond to America's beckoning call to become their agents, and indeed they have purchased error instead of guidance. Allah (SWT) says:
They are the ones who buy Error in place of Guidance and Torment in place of Forgiveness. Ah! what boldness (They show) for the Fire![TMQ 2:175]
Cultivating such people to assume power is taking time and hence, the US has instructed the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) to delay the elections until suitable agents dressed in Islamic garb are groomed under US auspices to take power.
The army leadership instead of opposing American interference has gladly accepted this task and is prepared to spill blood, abduct people and repress any form of dissent.
O Muslims, the only thing that stands in your way and the return of Islam is the army leadership. And in sum they do not amount to more than a handful of people, who have abandoned Allah (SWT), His messenger (SAW) and you in preference for safeguarding America's hegemony and the security of the Zionist state. They look upon them as there friends and helpers, whilst they pour scorn over you. They embrace the enemies of Islam in clear violation of Allah's word:
"Oh you who be believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians as protecting allies [lit. awliya - plural of wali, mistranslated often here as "friends" ]! Each of them are protecting allies within their own. And the one amongst you who turns to them as protecting allies, then he is one of them. And truly, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people." [TMQ Al-Maida:51]
They are closed to reason and dialogue, and are blind to the reality of their master America. Look how easily she disposed of their comrade Mubarak who had served her for many years. Yet despite this, they are willing to put their trust in America ahead of their trust in Allah (SWT) and they see no shame in betraying your yearning for Islam.
"O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]." [TMQ Al-Anfal:27]
Moreover, they think they are clever by pretending to look after your affairs and your Deen, but they refer to taghoot. Allah Says:
"Have you seen those who claim to believe in the revelation revealed to you and the revelation revealed earlier? They seek the ruling of taghoot (non-Islam) although they have been ordered to disbelieve in it." [TMQ An-Nisa: 60].
O Muslims of Egypt! Remember your duty to uphold Allah's deen in all circumstances. You must work with your brothers in the army to uproot the army leadership and re-establish the Kilafah . Only then can your aspirations for peace, justice and the full implementation of Islam can be realised. And know that Allah has power over all things.
O you who believe! Answer (the call of) Allah and the (Prophetic) Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life, and know that Allah comes between the man and his own heart, and that to Him you shall be gathered. [TMQ Al-Anfal: 24].
