'Americans have just screwed the world yet again': Horror and fear strikes the Muslim world as Trump wins

Horror and fear swept through Muslim countries after Donald Trump was confirmed as President of the Unites States after months of anti-Islamic rhetoric. The Republican made his most controversial remarks about Islam in December last year, sparking anger among the world's 1.5billion followers of Islam when he called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. after a mass shooting in California. Muslims across Asia were struggling this morning to accept the news the populist candidate will take office in the White House, saying that ISIS would be happy he won the presidency race. 'Americans have just screwed the world yet again,' said Syed Tashfin Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi who has several close friends in the US. Thousands in the country watched in shock as the results rolled in and Facebook lit up with horrified reactions.

'I'm very afraid, will there be more wars? Will America attack Muslim countries again?' asked Indonesian activist Alijah Diete as Donald Trump edged closer to a shock victory in the US election. Zuhairi Misrawi, an Islamic scholar from moderate Indonesian Islamic organisation Nahdlatul Ulama, reacted to the news by saying it would be seen as a powerplay for terrorists across the globe. 'When the United States uses hard power, extremists gain a momentum,' he said. 'Those who will be the happiest when Trump wins are ISIS.' A senior Pakistani government official, speaking anonymously, called the news 'absolutely atrocious and horrifying' while others in the country also lamented the results. 'I am disappointed to see Donald Trump winning because Hillary Clinton is a good woman, she is good for Pakistan and Muslims all over the world,' said Ishaq Khan, 32, speaking at an Islamabad market. Slowly, but surely Allah (swt) is lifting the veil on the sources of oppression for the Muslim world. First, the Arab revolution exposed the enmity of the rulers towards their people. Now Allah (swt) is exposing the enmity of their masters towards Islam. What more do Muslims need in order to wake up from their deep slumber.

ESCWA: 'Arab Spring' cost Middle East economies $600bn

The so-called Arab Spring of 2011 has cost the region's economies an estimated $614bn of growth because of governmental changes, continuing conflict and falling oil prices, according to a United Nations agency. The figure from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), equivalent to 6 percent of GDP up to the end of last year, is based on growth projections made before the revolutions started. Published on Thursday, it is the first estimate of its kind by a global economic body. In December 2010, protests broke out in Tunisia which led to the first of the series of revolutions that became known as the Arab Spring, which later toppled four leaders and mired Yemen, Syria and Libya in war. In its sixth year of conflict, Syria alone has suffered GDP and capital losses of $259bn since 2011, according to estimates from the National Agenda for the Future of Syria, another UN programme. Oil prices began to slide in mid-2014 and fell to 13-year lows this January, hitting producer countries such as Saudi Arabia, and others including Lebanon that rely heavily on remittances from citizens working in Arab Gulf states. Mohamed el Moctar Mohamed el Hacene, ESCWA's economic development director, said the oil downturn would probably benefit producer countries. "They will put in place economic reforms leading to real diversification," he told Reuters news agency. Meanwhile, the region needed more financial support from the international community.

"We have seen in Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Balkans the support they got in order to recover after conflict. We have not seen so far such support occurring for the Arab region," Hacene said. [Source: Aljazeera]

Western intervention in the Arab world has cost much more. The UN will never publish the true cost of Western policies in Muslim lands. Hacene is wrong to suggest that more support is needed from the West. What is required is total expulsion of Western companies and crusader basis from Arab lands.

Egypt's Sisi invites Trump to Cairo

The Egyptian president is the first world leader to speak with the new US president election on the phone. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi invited on Wednesday US President-elect Donald Trump to visit Cairo, in a telephone call in which El-Sisi congratulated Trump personally on his triumph in the US presidential elections, the Egyptian Presidency announced. In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi expressed his hope for more cooperation between Egypt and the United States in all fields. On his part, the newly-elected 45th president of the United States thanked El-Sisi, saying he appreciated the call and hinting that it was the first telephone call he had received from a world leader. Trump also expressed his wish to meet with the Egyptian president soon. "Egypt is looking forward to seeing a new spirit brought to the presidential term of President Trump in terms of Egyptian-American relations, including more cooperation and coordination for the mutual benefit of the American and Egyptian people," the Egyptian presidency's statement read. The Egyptian Presidency added that Egypt is looking forward to the enforcement of peace and development in the Middle East and hopes for continued stability and prosperity for the American people. Sisi eager to make friends with the enemy of Muslims phoned Trump and congratulated him on his win. Sisi has also openly supported the foreign butcher of Syria, Putin. It is evident that Sisi prefers the friendship of the enemies of Islam and their institutions like the IMF to oppress Muslims both at home and worldwide.
