Zionists Open Embassy in Bahrain
The Jewish entity officially opened its embassy in Bahrain after Bahrain signed the Abraham Accords to normalise relations. The Zionist Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa on the same day as the first direct flight from Manama touched down in Tel Aviv.
Bahrain’s carrier Gulf Air was met at Ben Gurion International Airport with a water salute and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. During his meeting with Lapid, King Hamad hailed the normalisation agreement as a historical achievement on the road to just and lasting peace in the Middle East. The two countries had long enjoyed clandestine security ties over a shared distrust of Iran, but only last year took the relationship public. The ‘Israeli’ diplomatic delegation and its Bahraini counterparts signed a raft of agreements to further cement bilateral ties, including economic deals and cooperation between hospitals and water companies.
Pakistan's Interim PM says Saudi Arabia to Invest $25 Billion Over Next Five Years
Saudi Arabia will invest up to $25 billion in Pakistan over the next two to five years in various sectors, Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said, adding his government would also revive a stalled privatisation process. Kakar, speaking to journalists at his official residence, said Saudi Arabia's investment would come in the mining, agriculture and information technology sectors, and was a part of a push to increase foreign direct investment in Pakistan. If confirmed, the series of investments worth $25 billion would be the biggest ever by the kingdom in Pakistan. Pakistan’s economy has been reeling for years from IMF borrowing and corrupt government. Saudi Arabia has previously invested and lent money to Pakistan when it was in trouble but the situation has only got worse.
