According to an article by STAT:The World Health Organization’s director-general cautioned Saturday that transmission of the new coronavirus outside of China may increase and countries should prepare for that possibility.

European leaders gathered in Jerusalem at the end of January to commemorate the Holocaust and battle anti-Semitism, 75 years after the liberation of Auschwitz. US Department of State published the new Central Asia Strategy. The document was published on the department’s website. The strategy was presented to the region’s foreign ministers during a visit to Tashkent by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. According to the document, cooperation with Central Asia in the fight against terrorism and extremism will continue, including through joint work with law enforcement agencies and border services.

Some electoral experts and civil society members have attributed the poor turnout of voters in elections to Dhaka’s two city corporations to the people’s loss of confidence in the country’s electoral system. They also expressed a sense of urgency in urging the Election Commission to find out the reasons why voters, in large majority, shied away from casting their votes in Saturday’s elections.
