By Increasing Dependence on India for Food Security, Hasina Regime is handing over Ummah’s Sovereignty

News:

The country has made great strides in food grain production in the last few decades. The Ministry of Agriculture claims that Bangladesh is now self-sufficient in food. However, the import of food grains is increasing every year. Until now, rice was the main imported food grain. This product is mainly imported from India. Now the lion's share of wheat imports is coming from India. Experts observe that the success of state-owned food grains has not yet ensured food security in Bangladesh. According to public and private sources, Bangladesh's food security is now largely dependent on India. (Bonikbarta.net, March 03, 2022).

Comment:

Bangladesh's current secular puppet rulers on the one hand promote Bangladesh as food self-sufficient and in many cases in the top 5 or 10 in food grain production worldwide, and on the other hand are pushing the country towards relying on India's imports for essential commodities! Despite being aware of the rice and onion production and the stock situation in the country, this puppet government has handed over these vital commodities market to the Mushrik enemy State by regularly depending on them for on their imports. After rice, pulses, and onions, these rulers set a new precedent for threatening the food security of the Ummah by making wheat which is another strategic commodity dependent upon import from India. In this way, this treacherous regime is threatening our food security and destroying all our self-reliance by making the country's essential food commodities dependent on Indian import one after another so that we cannot stand strong when the promised Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood returns very soon bi’iznillah. This treacherous regime has no limits in handing over all the aspects of Ummah’s sovereignty to the Mushrik enemy State.

In this situation, the only way to ensure our food security is through the Khilafah State which by implementing its Shari’ah obligated precise policies will ensure food security by emphasizing production and efficient distribution, and will undertake rapid development strategies. To cater to not only the local need for food but also to meet the global need for food, the Khilafah will focus on increasing land productivity by supporting the farmers in modernizing the entire farming operations. The Khilafah State will make sure that no lands remain idle and thus will link ownership of lands with its cultivation and thereby will ensure our food security by boosting agricultural production. If someone leaves the land uncultivated for 3 years in a row, the State will take the land from him and give it to the person who is able to cultivate it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

«مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا أَوْ لِيُزْرِعْهَا أَخَاهُ وَلاَ يُكْرِيهَا»

“Whoever has land, let him cultivate it or give it to his brother to cultivate, and not lease it to his brother.” ‏‏ Finally, the Khilafah by freeing our agricultural sector from all foreign dependences, will implement the policies of food self-sufficiency, and move towards building a self-reliant and powerful State. Allah (swt) says,

(فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّي هُدًى فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَى)

“So there will surely come to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, he shall not go astray nor be unhappy” [Surah Ta-Ha: 123].
