Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit India from September 5 to 8, with a focus on strengthening the "multifaceted" bilateral ties. Announcing Hasina's visit, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said she will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will call on President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar. Hasina last visited New Delhi in October 2019.

Malaysia: Datuk Seri Mohamad Najib bin Abdul Razak became the first former Prime Minister to be jailed for the misappropriation of RM42 million in SRC International funds. On 28 July 2020, the High Court convicted and sentenced Najib to 12 years in jail and a fine of RM210 million. This ruling was upheld by the Court of Appeal on Dec 8, 2021.

The US biotech company Moderna is alleging that mRNA technology it developed before the Covid-19 pandemic was copied, hence it is suing Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech for patent infringement. "We are filing these lawsuits to protect the innovative mRNA technology platform that we pioneered, invested billions of dollars in creating, and patented during the decade preceding the Covid-19 pandemic," Moderna chief executive Stephane Bancel said.
