How can Muslims Ever See Eye to Eye with the US?
The United States has an important and vital relationship with Pakistan and it cannot be ignored even if it is ‘complicated’, says the US State Department. At a news briefing in Washington on 13 May, during the afternoon, the department’s spokesman John Kirby also urged Pakistan to keep open the Torkham border with Afghanistan. “It is an important, vital relationship that we strongly believe in. Is it complicated at times? Absolutely, it is,” Mr Kirby said when asked to comment on Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz’s recent statement that the relationship between the US and Pakistan has been under stress for the past three months. “Do we see eye to eye on every issue with Pakistan? No, we don’t. But that’s why the relationship matters so much, because we have shared threats and shared concerns, shared interest in the region, and we’re going to continue to work at it,” Mr Kirby said.
How can Muslims see eye to eye with the US on global and regional issues? The US is the foremost in aggression against the Muslims, whether in Iraq or Afghanistan. It also has continuously supported the Jewish and Hindu states, even though they are active in their aggression against the Muslims of Palestine and Occupied Kashmir respectively. It has waged war on the Ummah as well as their beliefs and values under the cover of its crusade against “terrorism” and “extremism.” As for the statement of Sartaj Aziz regarding stress in the relationship, the stress is certainly not between the Raheel-Nawaz regime and Washington. The Raheel-Nawaz regime willingly and dutifully complies with the demands of Washington. The actual stress is because the Muslims of Pakistan, within its armed forces and outside of them, reject the pro-American, anti-Islam policies of the regime. Thus, the regime is increasingly at odds with the people and struggles to implement the pro-American policies without arousing further anger. This situation is the normal cycle of the system in Pakistan. New faces are bought in but over time they are exposed as American agents and when they are no longer able to efficiently implement American policies, Washington instigates yet more new faces.
The destructive cycle of slavery to America will never be changed by yet another change in faces. It will only be ended by the abolition of the current system and the return of the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood. Only then will we have rulers that treat hostile nations on a war footing in accordance to the command of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) said,
“O you who believe! Choose not My enemies who are your enemies as friends showing them affection even when they disbelieve in that truth that has come to you” [Surah Mumtahina 60:1]
Democracy is the Guardian of Corruption
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in his long-awaited speech before the National Assembly on the ‘Panamagate’ issue on 16 May 2016, again spoke about the chequered history of his family businesses, arguing that his father had left him enough money to buy properties in London. His 30-minute address to a packed lower house, however, did not impress the opposition, which walked out in unison, instead of responding to the prime minister’s claim that his family had made its businesses profitable, even under adverse circumstances. The PM presented documentary evidence of taxes worth Rs10 billion, which his family had paid over the past 23 years, and details of the sale of two steel mills; one in the UAE which was sold in 1980 for 33.37 million dirhams, and another in Saudi Arabia, whose sale netted his family $17m in 2005. He said this money was used to buy properties in London, but didn’t touch specifically on the offshore companies said to be owned by his two sons and daughter.
The problem lies deeper than merely tax evasion and is actually the direct result of the corrupt system of Capitalism, as implemented by its guardian, Democracy. The concentration of wealth in the hands of the ruling elite is legalized through man made legislation under democracy. The political families make wealth because they have usurped from society sources of huge revenue through privatization. Specifically, the predominately state properties and public properties, such as large scale construction, steel production, arms manufacture, banking and energy industry. This is why in America, Britain and France, there are ruling dynasties of large capitalists. There is an immense concentration of the wealth, such that ninety per cent of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of less than five per cent. Even during the global economic crisis, the global democracy elite have increased their wealth by over 60%. In India democracy has been uninterrupted for over sixty years, with the result of an extremely wealthy Brahmin elite with masses that are driven to suicide because of poverty, to the order of hundreds of thousands. Because democracy is the best system that money can buy, the costs of elections have escalated to enormous levels. The recent US Presidential elections was the most expensive in history, to the order of billions of dollars and that too at the time of the global economic crisis. And in Pakistan too, politicians spend tens of millions of Rupees as an investment to increase their wealth immensely. So as it is true to say regarding democracy that “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts, absolutely.”
Unless Democracy is abolished wealth will continue to circulate only amongst the ruling elite. Islam alone assures that the rulings of state, public and private ownership will be implemented as is stipulated in the Quran and Sunnah. This will allow the existence of wealthy individuals without usurping the rights of the society and an immense concentration of wealth such that there is a gaping disparity between the haves and have-nots. The Islamic economic system alone ensures that there is circulation of wealth in the society and that wealth does not accumulate in the hands of a few. Allah (swt) revealed, [كَيْ لاَ يَكُونَ دُولَةً بَيْنَ الأَغْنِيَاءِ مِنْكُمْ] “Lest the wealth circulates solely among the wealthy from amongst you.” [Surah Al-Hashr 59: 7]
US Assurance on Baluchistan Is No Assurance
The Dawn Newspaper reported on 17 May 2016 that “The US State Department has assured Pakistan that it does not support the demand for an independent Balochistan, as it respects the country’s unity and territorial integrity.” “The US government respects the unity and territorial integrity of Pakistan, and we do not support independence for Balochistan,” says a policy statement the US State Department shared with Dawn. Elaborating the US position on the matter, a State Department official said: “We have consistently urged all parties in Pakistan to work out their differences peaceably and through a valid political process.” The statement followed two seminars that Baloch nationalists in Washington held at Carnegie Endowment and Capitol Hall this week, urging the US administration and lawmakers to support their struggle.
The Muslims of Pakistan are familiar with the style of the US denying what it is actually doing, hiding behind the established policy of “plausible denial” and so are more than a little sceptical about American reassurances. In reality, America's plan for Baluchistan mirrors that of the British Raj: policing by force, exploiting the resources and keeping the population deprived and downtrodden. Washington is implementing this plan with the assistance of traitors within Pakistan's military and political leadership throughout decades of Pakistan’s existence. America advocates the democratic system for Pakistan which itself is the cause of neglect of minorities. Democracy is based on the idea of the majority so minorities, whether based on language, race or religion, are neglected. Democracy encourages minorities to group together as factions in a bid to fight for their rights, whether on the basic of sectarianism or nationalism. And America then fans the nationalist and sectarian strife, through political and financial means, as part of the colonialist divide and rule policy. America has economic interests within Baluchistan. During the time of Musharraf, the US Presidency announced America's desire for foreign companies to exploit the huge resources of Baluchistan, a plan which is well under way. And these companies have maintained their activities under the Raheel-Nawaz regime. America has strategic interests within Baluchistan and in neighbouring Afghanistan. America must maintain its military footprint in Afghanistan beyond 2016, despite its claims otherwise. America recruits its Afghan puppets through Baluchistan's capital, Quetta, and it has deployed marines on the Chaman border. Its intelligence has presence within the region and its military have used bases within Baluchistan for air forces and drones. Its Raymond Davis network reaches this region and supervises the assassinations and bombings with the assistance of the Ghani and Raheel-Nawaz regimes. America requires assistance from Pakistan's armed forces in order to secure its presence within Baluchistan. It has created an atmosphere of Fitna within the province to provoke the armed forces into deployment within the region. Simultaneously our armed forces will be ensnared and our people thrown into the fires of chaos, so America can fulfil its interests undisturbed and unchallenged.
The Khilafah "Caliphate" will not depend on assurances from the belligerent US for stability and security. Regarding the foreign hostile presence in Baluchistan, the Khilafah "Caliphate" will end it decisively and permanently by closing all American consulates, embassies, bases and deporting all of its officials. It will end all contacts with officials of foreign hostile powers to cut off any influence.
Pakistan's Economy Will Remain Crippled without Local Heavy Industry
The country’s large-scale manufacturing (LSM) sector grew 4.7 per cent during the first three quarters of this fiscal year as compared to the corresponding period last year. The Quantum Index Numbers (QIM) of large-scale manufacturing industries was recorded at 133.88 points during July-March 2015-16, against 127.87 points during the same period last year, according to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), as reported by the Dawn Newspaper on 18 May 2016. Major sectors that showed growth during the three quarters of the current fiscal year included textile (0.6pc), coal and petroleum products (2.pc), pharmaceuticals (7.2pc), chemicals (10.01pc), non-metallic mineral products (10.23pc), automobiles (23.43pc), fertilizers (15.92pc), leather products (12.18pc) and rubber products (11.68pc). On the other hand, the LSM industries that witnessed a negative growth included iron and steel (7.48pc), electronics (9.98pc), paper and board (2.9pc), engineering (17.64pc) and wood products (58.03pc).
It is expected that industry grows along with demands from a growing population, supported by an increasing size in population available for employment. However, what is as critical as growth is the type of the growth, the nature or profile of the increase of industrial capability. In Pakistan's case, the picture is far from rosy. Foreign companies now dominate production in pharmaceuticals, electronics, industrial and agricultural machinery, electricity generation, telecommunications and automobiles manufacture. One of the manifestations is increasing unemployment as thousands of local companies are crushed by the regime-facilitated foreign domination. Moreover, despite being the most powerful Muslim armed forces at a critical time in the history of this Ummah, the armed forces are too dependent on foreign produced military hardware, with the F-16s crisis being just one example.
Regarding industry, the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood will have a military focus, which will lead to the rapid development of a heavy industrial base. In its Introduction to the Constitution, Hizb ut Tahrir has adopted Article 74, “The Department of Industry is in charge of all the affairs connected to industry, whether heavy industry such as the manufacturing of engines, machines, vehicles, materials and electrical equipment, or light industry. Similarly, whether the factories are of the public property type or they are included in the private property and have a relationship to the military industry. All types of factories must be established upon the basis of military policy… it is a duty upon the State to manufacture weapons by itself and it is not allowed to depend upon other states, because this allows other states to control it, its will, its weapons and its fighting... This can’t be achieved unless the State possesses heavy industry and started to build factories which produce heavy industry, both military and non-military alike.
