G7 Fails to Agree to Measures for Reviving Economic Growth

As the world economy continues to suffer almost a decade after the 2008 financial crisis, the G7 leaders meeting in Japan failed to agree to common measures to stimulate their economies. Each one is trying to push the other to solve the crisis by increasing its government spending.

The host of the G7 summit meeting, Japanese Prime Minister Shizo Abe, strongly emphasised danger to the world economy, presenting documents in the meeting on Thursday showing the sharp fall in commodity prices since 2014 and comparing the current situation to the financial crisis that followed the 2008 Lehman Bank collapse. Abe later told reporters that the leaders had a "full debate" on economic issues. "We agreed on the perception that we are facing serious risks, that the world economy is facing serious risk." [Nikkei]

In an article on Friday, Japan's Nikkei newspaper described France's Hollande, Italy's Renzi and Canada's Trudeau as positive towards the importance of increasing government spending to boost domestic demand. However, the UK and Germany appeared to respond negatively with President Obama arguing that the US cannot remain the sole driver of global growth and calling on other G-7 members to do their part.

It is evident from these conflicts between the current world powers that each looks to its own narrow interest only and none of them is willing to take leadership of world affairs for the benefit of mankind. They are even not willing to give attention to the suffering caused to their own people from such geopolitical conflicts.

Turkey Criticises Presence of US Special Forces in Kurdish Militia

Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called the US "two-faced" in response to battleground images that appear to show a US Special Forces soldier wearing the patch of the Kurdish militia group YPJ.

Turkey knows very well why American Special Forces are embedded with the Kurdish militia. After the suffering and humiliation of America in Iraq and Afghanistan, America is unwilling to directly enter the Syrian battleground. So instead it has designed a comprehensive plan for the region that gives an assigned role to each element within it. The Kurdish militia have their role to play and American Special Forces personnel are present amongst them to instruct them in this.

Muslims have to realise that America is not capable of entering Muslim land alone and is strongly dependent upon Muslims themselves to achieve its objectives. Even the American invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan would have been impossible without the resources, cooperation and support of Muslim powers.

In complaining about the American role in the Kurdish militia why has the Turkish foreign minister forgotten about the American role in Turkey itself? America would not be able to carry out its plan in Syria without the deep cooperation of the Turkish government. Turkey is a major military power and has the ability to liberate the entire region from control by the foreign Kufr powers.

Obama Visits Hiroshima

On Friday, President Obama became the first sitting US president to visit the Japanese city of Hiroshima since U.S. warplanes dropped the first atomic bomb on 6 August 1945. The bomb killed 140,000 and seriously injured another 100,000. Three days later, the U.S. dropped a second atomic bomb on Nagasaki, killing another 74,000 people. Many Japanese have suffered lifelong ailments as a consequence of the radiation exposure.

Nuclear weapons are explicitly designed to kill civilians instead of fighting military forces. Since the fall of the Ottoman State from superpower status, the Western countries began deviating from principles of ethical warfare that had been practised throughout the world. The influence of the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate) in warfare was such that even European armies fighting each other would adopt the ethics and chivalry that they had witnessed practised by Muslims.

However, once the Khilafah "Caliphate" fell from superpower status, the secular Western countries, following their worldly materialist agenda, lost interest in ethics and came to see the overwhelming use of force by any means as the best guarantor of victory. The carpet bombing of German civilian populations centres in World War II was just one example of this. The development of weapons of mass destruction was a natural consequence, including nuclear bombs, chemical weapons and biological warfare, employing all three major branches of science - Physics, Chemistry and Biology - for human destruction.

Obama is far from renouncing the use of nuclear weapons. He is not even willing to apologise for what was done to Japan despite the fact that the Japanese government was discussing terms for surrender at the time. Only the re-established Khilafah "Caliphate" State upon the method of the Prophethood will be to return stability to the world and reintroduce ethics into world political and military affairs.
