Britain Blackmailing the European Union

A petition has been posted online to the British parliament, requesting a fresh referendum over the EU member. This petition has been signed by over a million petitioners following the decision over the Brexit Referendum that took place last week. The petition seeks a new referendum after last week’s referendum which resulted in 51.9% of the voters supporting to leave the EU, a decision that has led to a lot of divisions across the country. The petition comes in support of the legal ruling that requires the government to undertake a fresh referendum if the voter turn out has been less than 75%.

Comment:

1-  The EU since its creation has never been a real union because it has no actual shared cultural or ideological foundations between the countries of the union, rather the opposite of this is more valid. There has been no real economic cooperation between the countries, rather there has been competition and disputes over resources of the Union and those that the Union occupies. Furthermore, there has been no shared drive among the countries of the Union, rather American failed the project to build a United European force and NATO under the American leadership has remained the strongest force in the world and American uses it to serve its interest in the first place. This is apart from there being no unity in the humanistic values between the people of the Union and the ‘generosity and hospitality’ that the refugees received in Europe shows the degradation of the European people. Not to forget that the nations of the Union do not have any close relationships or social relationships between them, there has been no European who has eaten from a single plate, rather selfishness and ego has been the politics of every nation of the Union, and every state is concerned with fulfilling its own selfish interests which it can fulfill through the Union. This is why the name Union is far from being a real Union.

2-  Britain for 43 years was far away from membership of the Union, and it would not be an exaggeration if we said that Britain fought with European countries until its last soldier, this was after it had fought till the last soldier with France. Britain’s treatment of Europe was that of an agricultural land that reaps it economic benefits and it uses its open markets to sell its products, benefitting from the custom tariff laws and in return it never gave anything in return. Her attitude always was that of an English fisherman who would wait for a fish to be caught in its net and would never give anything to the ocean in return.

3-  The western civilization is built on material benefits and it has turned its people into non-human entities! The West considered politics as the art of possibilities, and when they practiced it, they became the subject of criticism and was abhorred by everyone who carried a sound character. Had the politicians decided to separate, the situation would have been in line with their inhuman nature, however because humanity is missing from the European people and the British people mainly due to which they are asking for a separation, this means that the people have turned to be worse than the politicians, rather they have lost the human values because by raising their voices to separate against the union they have gone against the human nature which pushes him toward building united structures.

4-  Increasing voices who are against the separation and the existence of a law that allows the referendum to be conducted again puts forth certain question regarding the seriousness of the real decision makers in Britain regarding the separation. Apart from this, what could be the reason for UK to push ahead the official separation to October except that it wants to blackmail EU and not separate from EU.

History has not witnessed actual unity between people and neighboring and far off lands like the unity of the Islamic Ummah which was united under one ruler and under one Creed and one culture and one viewpoint towards life, and they would eat from the same plate and the same glass and they would fulfill responsibilities towards who are lower than them. It is towards this ideology we invite the people of the World and the Europeans to unite under.

﴿قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُولُوا اشْهَدُوا بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ﴾

“Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]."” [Al-i-Imran:64]
