Trump, the Liar, is a Product of Western Politics

Newsweek reported that Trump’s legal team were doing their utmost to block the publication Michael Wolff's 'Fire and Fury.' Is That Constitutional? [1]. The book paints a damning picture of Trump’s Whitehouse, and Wolf describes the President as the “least credible person who has ever walked the earth” [2].

The author Michael Wolff has laid bare the inner workings of the Trump’s administration and has portrayed Trump as an incessant liar who is incompetent at his job, and forever seeking gratification from those around him. Wolff’s revelations chime well with what most of the world thinks about Trump.

Predictably, Wolff fails to address the root cause behind Trump’s habitual lying. Likewise, many commentators have papered over the root cause and have attributed Trump’s deceit to either his upbringing and business dealings or the desire to appeal to his support base.

The truth of the matter is that all politicians in the West routinely lie and falsify facts to appease the masses. Trump’s lying abilities might be on another scale, and have shaken America but other politicians are no less in their dishonesty. Such politicians hide behind astute words to conceal the true extent of their lies. Both subscribe to Niccolo Machiavelli’s axiom of using deception to achieve power and fool the electorate.

Machiavelli once said, “those princes who have done great things have considered keeping their word of little account, and have known how to beguile men’s minds by shrewdness and cunning” [3]. Hence, the entire political system in the West is geared towards producing politicians that entice people through their false promises to attain and maintain power.

Since the Western political system dominates the world, the political class in every country, including the Islamic, world is deeply infected with Machiavellian ideas and sees nothing wrong in the constant deception of the masses. The messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Years of treachery will come over people in which liars are believed and the truthful are denied, the deceitful are trusted and the trustworthy are considered traitors, and the al-Ruwaybaḍah will deliver speeches.”

«سَيَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ سَنَوَاتٌ خَدَّاعَاتُ يُصَدَّقُ فِيهَا الْكَاذِبُ وَيُكَذَّبُ فِيهَا الصَّادِقُ وَيُؤْتَمَنُ فِيهَا الْخَائِنُ وَيُخَوَّنُ فِيهَا الْأَمِينُ وَيَنْطِقُ فِيهَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ» قِيلَ وَمَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ؟ قَالَ: «الرَّجُلُ التَّافِهُ فِي أَمْرِ الْعَامَّةِ»

“It was said, “Who are the al-Ruwaybaḍah?” The Prophet said, “Petty men with authority over the common people. [4]”

Living under years of deceitfulness have imbued within the masses globally a strong craving to elect not only liars but also outsiders—those that do not belong to the political class or are novices in the art of politics. Sixty three million Americans voted for Trump [5] and the Islamic world is no different. It is teeming with obscure leaders either elected or imposed upon the masses that belong exclusively to the al-Ruwaybaḍah camp.

Only the return of the Islamic ruling system, the Caliphate (Khilafah), will end the tyranny of the al-Ruwaybaḍah camp throughout the world.
